From time to time I have a problem with the action getting very jerky - especially when there's lots going on - and it makes the game unplayable.
The game runs very smoothly for half a second then stops for half a second. This includes all windows, including the connection window which shoew the ping oscillating between the usual 200 ping to 600 or so. If it's partiuclarly bad then it goes from 150ms to 1.5s.
I do occasionally get packet loss or brief disconnects but that isn't particularly connected with the jerkiness.
Following another post I've been running tracert and ping to 83.141.21.125.
The tracert is fine and even with ryzom running in the background I'm getting fairly solid 47-49ms pings, with occasional pings in the 400-800ms range - but less than 1 in 50.
I've just switched back to ryzom and I'm still getting this jerkiness while the ping is still solid at 49ms.
I'm running on 32-bit Vista with 2GB memory and the PC is otherwise running smoothly...
Any ideas?
Jerky action
Re: Jerky action
For jerkiness ensure that your graphics card are updated to the latest current drivers (not beta or omega) and if they are ensure they were correctly installed. Even though you have 2gb of Ram on your system you can run a Memtest to also ensure that those are properly installed.
Unfortunately without getting further system specs that is all I can offer at this point. If what was mentioned above does not work, please reply with a more detailed list of system specs including what router you are using and firewall/av software.
Thanks,

I have the latest release drivers for my video card (Nvidia 7900GS). The 2GB of RAM is definitely installed properly and I have a 2.4GHz Core2 Duo CPU. I don't have AV software and there's no problem with the firewall. I have a Netgear DG834G router.
The problem is variable but it mainly around the northern stable at Pyr.
This area is particularly busy - is that the problem?
I can play other popular MMORPG without performance issues.
