To the Devs:The destroy option!??

Post by arramere »

Dear Devs,

You have created a great place to explore and become a part of. I like the world, combat, crafting etc..This post might actually be in the wrong area...but hay I'm new =)

I do have one gripe which I am sure I am not the only one. I tend to use the combat bar to swap in hand items. This is a GREAT feature. One does not have to sift through 30 items to find the gloves or sword that you want. Its easy to click ..choose the item ..and choose equip. The game play warrants swapping items in combat , which I do depending on circumstamnce. Now I know I dont have to but I am still exploring my options. (Want to lvl sword skill then swap in amps for faster group heals etc..)

This is the question:::::Why is there a DESTROY option???

If this was meant for that reason to hot swap in combat why in the world would I want to destroy it? There already is an option when you open your bag to do so.

If there is a reason I will be quiet. But I am sure I am not the only one who destroyed an item in that manner.

If at all possible in the next patch:::: Can this option be removed?? Is there a way I can remove it?(doubt that prob hard coded).

Thank you for listening.

The only reason I can see that the destroy option is there is because of diggers and crafters. Because I use the same feature that you do to swap out my jewelers tool with other craft tools. Well while crafting you wear out tools and it's easy to just destroy them in that window, but I do agree that it could be taken out and have no ill affect. ;)

As Zanthar says, picks and craft tools break fairly quickly. And as you say it's a good thing to have the seperate window for switching weapons/tools quickly to save time searching for them. It's the same if you want to destroy something thats broken rather than equip it. Whats wrong with being able to? It double-checks to be sure you want to anyway.

Why would you accidentally destroy while trying to swap weaps anyway?

To swap - Left click on the weapon icon in the hands bar and then left click on the one you want to equip.

To destroy - Right click on the weapon icon and select "Destroy" then select Ok when it asks you if you're sure.

There is no drop option so we hav ethe destroy option instead. It's easy.
Once an armor completely disintegrates on you and your bag is full of useless junk You'll thank the devs for this option.

We are all abit obsessed with the ecology of atys so no need for littering just destroy the stuf so that it's shreds become nourishment for the giant rootball :)

It is realtively easy to accidentally destroy items when you relocate them, but hey you gotta be vigilant (like a vigilant keepie lol)

Duh! By accident. Accidents do happen, accidentally. I've never done the same myself but I have sold stuff to NPC that I didn't mean to - much the same thing.

You raise a valid point, Arramere, but I think it's a very small issue, and the reasons for why the Destroy option is there have already been explained. Crafting players are hungry for demand, destroy all you can :) .

Psst: These fora are as good a place as any to raise a suggestion, but if you send in any ticket while ingame you will get some response very, very quickly.

What I meant was, I could understand selling stuff by mistake. Its just *click click click click DOH* But selling a weapon you have equipped, and equipping a different weapon use two completely different "motions", so I can't really foresee it being a major problem for many people and hence worth removing ;)

If the O/P didn't know about left clicking on the icon and was right clicking in their bag (which sounds unlikely from their post), then I could understand. But in that case, then my post would have taught them how to swap with much much less risk :)

Hey you hit on one spot where I had an actual contribution to game development. :) Originally, when an item wore out, it just went poof......if you happened to miss the quick sysinfor message, you looked in ya inventory and say jools were just gone....or you noticed that fpocus went int e toilet when you couldn't make a full pull....wha happen ?

I filed a ticket suggesting that instead of disappearing, that they appear witha red x on them so peeps would know they wore out. Got the standard message back saying "Thank you....blah blah blah....forwarde dup to developers....blah blah blah". Then I mentioned "think about all the support time you'll save answering from not having to answer tickets for peeps who report missing items". Nextr message came back saying issue was excalated and would be in future patch :) .

I doubt I wasn the only one who made the suggestion but I still smile when I see those red x's.
