amist it may be true it helps, but its a waste of money for those (most of us techies ;) ) who have good processors that want their systems running full speed if not faster..
on that note i think i'll over clock my processor a lill bit in a mo as my computer is actually colder than i was feeling earlyer (an that was indeed pretty damn cold)

Its not a heat issue. I was having reboots within seconds of logging in, processor was not running hot. I turned down the settings and was able to not reboot, but it still runs like crap.
How do I cancel this game anyways?

Ive got a 2000+, 133 Mhz FSB, running at 166. I dont have any problems with the game except chopiness due to my poor mx460 64mb video card and 512 RAM. Im using a blower tho... your right about AMD being hotter then an intel processor but before i had my blower, my cpu temp stayed around 54 C max around 60 C when running heavy game or electronic design progs. The blower lowered both by about 10 C. 60 C should not cause system crash, but if your cpu temp is too high i would suggest getting better cooling, you can improve your case because some have really poor air intake, and you can get a blower for your cpu. Forget about water cooling its not worth it if your not looking to seriously overclock your system.

I'm running an AthlonXP 2500+ (Barton core) at XP 3200+ speeds by upping my FSB from 166 to 200. With a copper heat sink and 60mm fan it does just fine and doesn't run any hotter than it does on any other CPU intensive app/game. If yer over heating when you didn't in the past, then I'd suggest investing in a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of your heatsink fan assembly, and the rest of the case for that matter. Other wise I'd suggest bying a $30 copper CPU cooler or doing something about the ventilation inside your case.

OK well first off i have a AMD 64 2800+ (1.9 1600 bus speed) and my game is crashing/rebooting but i never had this problem untill the new patch came out and i used to leave my game on over and over on end ask anyone who plays how much they see me Valdex on, its crap and i will not blame my computer parts cause of the crash first off they are like 2 months old and still once again it never happend before and at that my comp runs at 103 degrees WHILE playing ryzom so tell me cuz support told me to come here and said i have to take my side case off my comp (damage = lawsuit for that crappy help) i dunno what the problem is but i want it fixed especially since today is the day THEY bill us i will not pay for something i cannot play simplyt put any help besides telling me to take my side case of will be appreciated thanks

Valdex

PS. besides a cheap way to MAKE heat speaders for ram and cheap heat sinks that will only cost you pennies? get a few pennys and glue them onto it :) works just as good

lol that makes much sense considering that the 3200+ are already at 2.2ghz there resulting in that you are not over clocked :) no biggie though cuz then that means u can just make it faster :-P good luck to you

If you are running an ati vid card, try disabling vsync, I was having crashing/rebooting problems until I disabled vsync. Also try running ryzom off a fresh boot, I must fresh boot ryzom or else I will get a game crash no more than 15mins after starting ryzom. Keep us posted.

Hmmm. Maybe because you are making blanket generalizations that may or may not be true. And because underclocking may not be the fix that's appropriate for everyone .
