Can't connect with vista

Hello!

I have a very strange problem and I hope you can help with it.
I have two different OS on my comp. Windows Xp and Vista.
When im on xp ryzom works like a charm, but when i switch to Vista i need to download a patch and after one file download it says "patch failed" and i need to restart it.

I have installed Ryzom on C: where i have XP. But I have Vista on D:.

Anyone know what i should do?

I should also say that when I download ryzom client from this website and install it on C: (over the existing files) it takes like 3 sec and its done. After that I can play without problems.

I had a similar problem when I tried a beta version of Vista.
The solution was to install Ryzom on the drive that had Vista in addition to the one on my C drive with XP.

Check the shortcut on your desktop and ensure it is pointing to the D: install. Theoreticcally you can run Ryzom in Vista using the C: install executable if your permissions are set properly. The "game" may default and look into the C: folder, it might just need some tweaking the shortcuts.

Yeah, I just bought a new computer that only has vista. I can't get the game to install. I'm a computer dummy, so the post about vista beta testing is greek to me. I can't get the online chat to work. The fix mentioned in the thread for that isn't working. I've been trying to figure this out for hours, and I'm getting nowhere. It's too bad I really liked this game.

have you tried to install it to under your Documents ? or to Desktop ? (under Ryzom subdirectory ofcourse

The icons are on my desktop. The only thing in my documents folder is chat.players.ee for Klients. I was reffering to the klients:live chat support thread in the previous post. I get the login error discussed in that thread, but I see the solution is now posted. So hopefully I can get klients working and get some help.

Your Vista user does not have the rights to get enough access to the Ryzom folder in your XP partition to correctly run it. Give your own user full rights to the Ryzom folder.
