I followed the thread suggested and used the downloader. I was able to stay connected longer this time but ultimately got booted with this message.

Hi there can you tell me please if this is a recent issue or one that has just been happening all the time you have been playing.

Have you recently made any hardware/software changes to your system, also if you are connecting via a router have you manualy opened therelevant ports?

Any other information you can give would be a great help even if it seems not relevant to the problem i.e. any other issues you are suffering outside ofthe game.
please also can you include your full pc specs.

This has been happening for a while now. When I ran the downloader to repair Ryzom as the thread Tydamus pointed me to suggested I got less disconnects for a while. I haven't made any hardware or software changes and don't really seem to have any problems other than Ryzom. I usually turn my Firewall off when playing Ryzom.

Based on your error message, I would say it's your sound failing at some point. Hard to say with only one entry. Make sure your sound drivers and DirectSound are up to date and/or change settings in your game. Remove EAX and/or try lowering the number of channels your sound is using.
