(dont even know if AG supports kara or kami)
Maybe was wrong shooting a bit down on Karavan, many people in Karavan.. I saw all there jumping to hide when yelled for trek...?
We're a Karavan alligned, but are not part of the KA, so it's hardly surprising that certain guilds, both from the Kara, and Kami side may not have been willing to help

Personally I'll Res, or help anyone needing it, regardless of their faction

200+ ACTIVE members??? Or was that the entire list of members that popped up from the new player's guild list?

If there were 200+ active members in the guild you wouldn't have had to be informed of their faction by a lvl 50 player. You would have already known by a much stronger presence of the guild in game. You also spell it with two captial letters "KA". Are you mistakenly implying that the Atys Ghosts are members of the Karavan Alliance? If so I can assure you you're wrong. The Atys Ghosts have defended many OP's that the KA have attacked.

Sounds like thats a completely logical reason the new player didn't get trekked. In your first post you said you found "an atys ghost" at the stable. Singular. Even a single lvl 250 player would have difficulty trekking a new player that far. I suppose you also knew that single Atys Ghost member's RL schedule was completely free from distractions long enough for a trek too?

Sounds to me that you're just trying find another reason to badmouth the opposing faction because of some deep-rooted hatred for the Karavan Alliance, which Atys Ghosts isn't a part of as far as I know. You pride yourself on helping others and trekking new people, yet you go on a rant when you have to help a player who's not in your own guild?! Lets try to keep Atys a friendly place and not try so hard to bad-mouth other guilds because of their factions or whatever reason. If you keep posting that garbage there won't be any new players to trek.

[AS for that would assume he meant 200 total members, few guilds have 200 active online.
But even so, with The EoA guild we do average about 5-20 people at any given time, unless it is a specific event. Then more players do show up.]

on the KA I do not understand you, but is ok, I refferred to AtysGhosts.
On this it appears to an outsider NOT member of their guild that they treat their new members more than shoddy.. If that is the way they play then let them play that way, many other guilds both Kami and Karavan do not feel that way.

Logical reason, no I listed up waht happened, is up to atysghosts to expain or not their doings. or try to to their new recruits.

Not rant, and could care less about faction bashing, guild bashing, not realy, this reported as what I saw, and heard when asked..
as for KA alliance and concerns with AtysGhost not a part of it, well with activities like this can understand full well why maybe the KA (you in particular and others maybe ) do not invite or welcme in a Karavan guild of this caliber.
As for the trekking, your right, a single level 250 would not find it easy to trek a low member.. absolutely
I remember my first trek, came from RoS, was escorted by a single lady by herself from Yrk to Pyr, I never once came any where near death nor DP.
Had no idea where was going, but she got me there, and all the tp's in the line. and that was on MY first day on RoS, and she did it alone...
From the Sanctuary, Kami aligned.
From what I see many guilds do take care of their new recruits, they do not leve them alone with cats and let them train up to big players alone.
This is what I said, and what I saw.
If I originally abused the KA, then I apologise, as it is not them that did this, but instead a single Karavan guild. Is NOT right to take in new recruits and leave them unaided where they get disappointed... to o much dp for a newb and they kind of give up. and it is a wonderful game, meant to be played as a game. Also far better for ALL of those who DO help each other when needed...? Rez, whatever.. costs nothing but a bit of time, and that can go a very long ways

Ok not wanting to get in some flamefest, but Pyr - Yrk is very doable for a single 250 player with a newb attached to him.... same for Pyr - Zora..... only thing that would be really challeging is to get him to Fairheaven.

what you write shows your expectations of a guild, and that is much what you demand. I know that the things you 'demand' require either a lot of time or a lot of members to fulfill. You know it, and we know it. On the other hand it shows that you have to learn a lot yourself, about the game, and the community.

Atleast you had no problems by ignoring the region shouting of a homin asking for help, and now you blame it on a guild you don't know at all? I bet you did not even tried to contact one of their officers to discuss that issue.

I remeber that the Atys Ghosts helped on my first trek from Fairhaven to Yrkanis so I could attend at the marriage of Starflow and Raynez (read more [thread=11869]here[/thread]). That was the trek I enjoyed most of all treks I did on Atys.
If you check the date of that trek, that might explain the 'size' of that guild.

After skimming through this post earlier and having some time to think on it there are some things that I think are needed to be touched upon within this post. I will start by saying I do not post here often as I hate the flame fests that start on this board, that being said: Taking on a new player as a guild member is a lot of responsibility for that guild. Just outfitting does not completely cover it, I for one will both outfit and sit for hours out of group healing new players. I have also completed multiple treks to help new players to explore the world, some by myself and others with help as I do not have a lvl 250 character. Having been a member of 3 different guilds with this character and 1 with an alt (which has subsequently merged with another guild) I know what it is like to be left to your own devices and to also have others help out when needed. So before this does turn into a complete flame fest maybe it is time to stop pointing fingers and look at what is being stated here. The main goal of any game should be fun, and that goes for everyone. I was approached about this topic at about 3 am Saturday Morning and I stated that if I could be on Saturday Day to help I would be but like everyone else I also have Real Life commitments that I have to complete. This, in my opinion, was not meant to be a 'I am a Kami and we are better than the Karavan' topic but a concern that in all honesty has been answered by some.

I do not know if you read the above or not trini, but many of these posts go about trying to shoot down what I said..
If you wil try to re read aarefully I said what happened, I dearly do bleieve that among that 1st post I said I asked him about his giuld, they said they could not do it, they awee too busy, and they were mostly on different time zones.

He also said he asked his guild, and no one wanted to run him..ok fine.
The one I talked to said "oh that is a hard run." The new person was level 50, which is fine. But also mentioned above, I (myself) made the same run, with a female leading the way, in a 2 person team, within 1 hour of getting to ML on my 1st avatar on Atrys. I have been and am in currently 2 Kami guilds. Many times I have seen those members run people. Because they needed to go, but they took them.

Never once was it heard "no I cant go it is too hard for me."
I have heard a few times, or more so, Well, right now I cant go, but if youwant this to go, then tomorrow or maybe this weekend, cool.

And yes I have heard many times some of the Karavan guilds do the exact same thing, they run their new people who needs treks to go they go..

You mentioined oh we wait till we have 14-15 people to run, cool, go for it..
But some people are just fed up with where they are, they want to leave now, very little patience, well that is individuals. Take it or leave it.

This was done, and done. I said what happened. and I also say this.
I your guild is guilty of making new people wait for training, or treks, or help in learning what is going on on ryzom, then maybe they jsut might find a better guild elsewhere, one that can provbide these.
And for a fact, I have said this also..
I do not care if they truly are Karavan or Kami, your best off in a guild, but now to clarify that statement, your best off in a guild that cares about its people, that not only can, but will take care of you.
Puts you into training teams to help you learn at fastest pace you can handle.
If you are not in a guild that does that, then find one that will, and when you do, drop that guild, and go with the new one.
Keep looking til you find one that accepts new people that treat you with the respect you need and deserve.
For my 2 cents, form what I heard his team mates say, and what he said. Atys Ghosts is not anywhere near that type of guild.
Also many guilds I deal with, are those honest and treat fair, none treated anyone this way, if they did the person left.

Yowch! Sounds a little like a sweatshop :) .
billie1 wrote:Keep looking til you find one that accepts new people that treat you with the respect you need and deserve.
Don't forget that different people can want very different things from their time in Ryzom, which is quite clear by the varying styles and flavours of guilds here. I imagine you'd think it rather foolish for a character who wants to join the Kamists in battle to apply for a place in OmegaV, just as I'd think it rather stupid of someone with no respect for King Yrkanis to beg for a place in Phaedrea's Tears. By the way, did you ask your trekee how far they had managed to get by themselves while they were shouting day after day for a trek? Respect is usually thought of as something earned; not that I mean to imply anything about your trekee but you haven't painted him in a very good light.
billie1 wrote:For 4 days he yelled in Region chat, and maybe Uni chat for a trek to Lakes, then found out since he was matis ( ? ), he could go to Yrk, is closer.
Anyway, like I said, people can want different things from Ryzom and I think a trek without dp, or at least very nearly, is rather a let down.

What do you want to say with this statement? Gain levels in as short a period as possible? Using out of team healers?
Sure, if you prefer that playstyle, go for it.
billie1 wrote: Keep looking til you find one that accepts new people that treat you with the respect you need and deserve.
Yes, ofcourse, and if a member that just joined my guild asks for 1.000.000 dappers, I give to him, or what? Sure, that makes your play experience an easy one, but I always prefered to explain people, how to make money themselves. How to keep a team alive with an even leveled player, how to use afflictions to support a team. Teach how to sneak past kitins, instead of nuking a path through them.

From what I read of you, should I assume that the kami guilds that were forced to leave Cho are a bunch of homins afflicted with prejustice who tend to rant over guilds where they barely able to recognice their guild crest on a public forum. But that assumption would be very wrong!

Summa summarum if the whole community thinks and acts like you, the community really outgrew me in a direction I never assumed possible.
