Running the program client_background_downloader_rd should rewrite it and you'll be on your way :)

To run the downloader:
navigate to your ryzom folder and double click on client_background_downloader_rd.exe

I had this same issue, so i checked the ryzom install folder and found that the installer hadn't placed the files into the main folder, they were still located in the "unpack" folder. I just copied them(from the unpack folder) into the main Ryzom folder, started the exe again, went through the repair or install screen and then it started after that. Only thing is it always has to go back to that repair install screen before it will start. Perhaps the problem lies in a .cfg somewhere. If i find it, i'll post again. But anyways, this'll get you going. Good luck!

when this happens, there should be updt_nl.bat in ryzom folder. you may run it if you brave, but better is to open it in notepad and replace "del "with "rem del " and "if exist " with "rem if exist ". make sure you save it to new name as you may need it again.
first replace makes sure no files are deleted (useful if file is already moved and not in unpack anymore), and second replace makes sure it does not go to endless loop because "deleting old file failed".

Guys, I'm lost and I'll just tell you what I did because mine still wont work.

First of, I checked the folder and copied ( Using Control - C and then Control - V ) to the main folder. Then when I go to run it, I click repair and it works. But when it states "Start Ryzom", I tick the box and press "Okay" but then it says "This application has failed to start because wwwfile.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem". Help anyone?

Thanks.
