As for the other cho peeps with a more open and less generalizing point of view, Hope to meet and play with you all soon, And good luck on your transition

This is a very good thing. And I agree that it is hard, coming from that kind of environment, to believe you will experience the same kind of thing in a different environment around different people.zerlatik wrote:This is what we have built on Cho, a community where when someone needs help, we do so.
Um, oki, if you say so.zerlatik wrote:I'm not singling you out for verbal abuse here, I'm preparing.
This has never happened in anger, not once, yet YOU have witnessed it on Aris ? There are guilds playing Kami and preaching Karavan who are not officilly in a bigger alliances and choose who to side with based on the blowing winds. There is alot at stake, it's okay to be scared...zerlatik wrote: I've witnessed Karavan guilds railing against other Karavan guilds for taking their OPs, I've watched you rip each other to shreds in these forums over the smallest matters.
Whatever decision you make, I understand that you are losing 'your' land, but don't take your frustration out on the players there....that is what Marjo is forzerlatik wrote:You are perfectly welcome not to be nice to me, I expect nothing less.
I think you are going to be so upset on so many levels, let me elaborate
I don't think any of the three of you quite understand how the situation looks to us, so I'll attempt to enlighten you.
On Cho, when we take an OP, everyone shows up. I mean everyone. If you can swing a hammer, you're there. Karavan or Kami does not matter, you help because you can. When Lost Valley Stronghold finally fell, every player on Cho over lvl 100 with Zora access online was gleefully hacking, nuking, or healing away in Void. This is what we have built on Cho, a community where when someone needs help, we do so. We give away armor, weapons, cats, etc. Helping someone else puts another healer, crafter, or digger on the map, someone that will no doubt be more than willing to help us later on when we need it.
I do not participate in the OP battles myself, but I have watched players taking meks loaded with Ammo and weapons to share to a fight. Every player I have met has always stopped to talk with me, offered to help...When I see a 'newbie' hunting in an area I am digging I 'tag' and watch them as they run about, This allows me to locate them quickly when/if they call for a rez...In fact I get frustrated when they respawn and don't wait for the timer because they assume there is nobody there to help.
Now, let's look at how you've portrayed Arispotle to us over the last few months...
Most recently, we have mugendo's thread over here: http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29789
Which pretty much starts out saying Cho is nothing more than needless competition.
Pease re-read the post. You will see I am commenting on factual events with my interpretation...just as you have in this post I am replying to.....and I am sure you must agree your post is more contentious and hostile ?
No, Cho was the "frontier" to Arispotle's "city". We chose to live here because of the challenge and the lack of players, not in spite of them. Saying that we only existed to be a pale shadow of Arispotle and attempt to recreate that server does every player on Cho a disservice by belittling everything we've managed to build on that frontier.
You may be surprised to find among the frontiers people of Cho many Arispotle refugees, They left the Aris server for reasons best known to themselves. But I know for a fact many of them will be annoyed and frustrated at having the time investment of Cho deleted
Secondly, nearly every player on Cho has at least attempted to make an alt on Arispotle, after all, it costs us absolutely nothing to start a newbie there. I've sampled your Silan in depth over the last month or so before I even knew the server was closing. I've met all your newbies and alt chars, I've read your uni chat. You've been judged, and you were found lacking.
I hope that those players who did make an alt found at least a courtesy greeting and an offer of help, before the obligatory 'wanna join my guild' question. And I understand your point, I visit many nice places around the world, but my home is the most beautiful place...because my friends are there, I underdstand how the area reacts to events,..but I know that anybody arriving will not 'see' it, or 'dislike' it, as it is a non descript little town ....but I am not offended or upset that they judge it.
Yes, Arispotle is more than Ruins of Silan, and looking at the free account holders is no way to judge a server. But realize that you are your own PR department, and we read your threads on a regular basis. Trust me, for every good thread I've found about Arispotle, I have to read something like this:

Dude, you guys slay non-combatants, how screwed up is your server? I've witnessed Karavan guilds railing against other Karavan guilds for taking their OPs, I've watched you rip each other to shreds in these forums over the smallest matters. My take on Arispotle is that you're a bunch of rabid dogs, and I'm being force marched into this mess with the rest of Cho. I'm not singling you out for verbal abuse here, I'm preparing.
Yes there are PvP 'issues' that create 'forum drama', but I have never seen this translate into game hate.....and the 'drama queens' of the forum (me included) are not the ogres, uncompromising, ignorant posters you are expecting when you login...we are Homin helping others ingame.
By no means am I doing this alone, either. I'm watching good people like Crazod and Dragan up and quit the game rather than be dumped in with you. Those three suggestions above that have you all so worked up? They're not mine. That's Cho /uni from around 11 PM MST 2-3 days ago. I'm not asking people from Cho to respond to new options, I'm trying to get clarification on which option we decided to go with.
If you do decide to enter Aris, I hope I have demonstrated you will be very dissapointed...............in your expectations![]()
I agree here 98%. Forums always, always, always sound 10 times worse than they are. For example, Jayce and Doubletap (first names that come to mind here) sound like they'd be horrible to even pass in game, but I've seen them helping newbies and 'oldbies' multiple times. Really, things aren't like they are here on the forums. Most people are frustrated by work or school when posting here, and haven't had time to relax at home yetmugendo wrote:Yes there are PvP 'issues' that create 'forum drama', but I have never seen this translate into game hate.....and the 'drama queens' of the forum (me included) are not the ogres, uncompromising, ignorant posters you are expecting when you login...we are Homin helping others ingame.
