Oh look a nice new patch....... [ATS]

'great' i thougt to myself, a patch im sure theres going to be some interesting things here to play about on the ATS.

*starts downloading* - so i walk away for 15 mibns get some food, chat on the phone, get back 'patch failed' hmm

*starts again* - i wait at the computer for a while. it looks like its downloading, just very slow 'patch failed'

Ok, so i reactivate the background downloader.

*starts patching* freezes at 0.75%

*tries again* freezes at again <1%

so now im here.

EDIT: ive just done 8 (yes eight) tracert 's to 83.141.21.125 - no problems, highest was 102ms. 4 while 'downloading' 4 without.


EDIT 2nd edition: In the length of time its taken my to build a W2K comp from scratch to being able to get to the internet to post from the W2K comp, the ATS has patched a whole 7%

EDIT 3rd Edition: ive tried about 4 more times to download, each time getting like 2 or 3 more % done.. ill be here all week mehtinks

thats strange... I just logged onto ats and no patch at all for me.

If you are unable to download the patches it may be because you are using an older client, or not fully up to date. What you need to do is copy your current full client that you use to log into the main shards and rename the folder. Then edit your client.cfg file as stated and then log in to patch.

Also ensure that if you have any Firewall/AV programs that it allows the ryzom_client_rd.exe in the new directory is not blocked and also include the background patcher to be included.

Doing this should allow you to be able to do only a small patch and get into ATS. Please take not that some things are still in french but will be patched soon to include different languages.

I didnt have an 'ATS' version prior, so ive had to copy/paste the FULL client that i use to log into with Anatti.

The patch its asking for is only 9(ish) MB, and ive already done the other things youve suggested.

For no reason, after about 4 hours of working at it, it randomly decided to work. nothing changed save increasing CPU priority. it may have fixed it, but still took VERY long time ot patch
