That is actually a really good idea. It would not just free up slots, it would eliminate the need to upgrade all those actions on all those different taskbars.iwojimmy wrote:Regarding the Taskbar, Someone -sorry I have forgotten who- suggested having a "permanent" row of 10 actions, in addition to the currently scrollable 10 banks of 20.
This would be for actions that tend to get duplicated across many different banks ie. Speed, Invul, Auras, Self Heals, basic heal/common macro type actions. So you only need them once instead of repeated across 10 different action bars, thereby freeing up a lot of action slots.

That was Petej in the "What Bugs You the Most" thread. Lots of good, and bad, ideas in that thread, some of which have now been implemented, like the online status in the guild register. I think all of the points 6-17 in the OP, appear there under various guises. Nevrax were gradually working through those suggestions and gave us some at their last opportunity. I expect that GF will eventually continue and complete any or most development left unfinished.
For my part, I'm wholly in favour of point 5 - a little more information on item icons, or showing up when your mouse hovers over them.
To elaborate, Nevrax were reputedly working on digging nodes, and maybe hunting spawns (?), getting overworked and affecting the surrounding area, thus driving people to look elsewhere. Suggesting that spawns might migrate permanently to other areas, resource nodes could shift and change. I'd dearly love to see this, and similar movements of tribes thrown in, but I imagine these involve some pretty major reworkings of the underlying world mechanics.

That's not what Keiko said, she only said there was nothing worth hunting or digging there, it was another part of Atys to explore. But you are right that there are plenty of existing places which could be developed and given more value. People have asked for Atys to be more dynamic, shifting and moving, reacting to the actions of all homins - players and tribes. Nevrax was developing some of this two years ago, but obviously it got shelved in favour of content like Outposts and Spires. I wish it had been the other way around, and that they could have finished things off the way they really wanted to, rather than rush anything out, though at the time I was raising a clamour for the Outposts too. Who knows, if they hadn't pushed Outposts out, Ryzom might not have survived this far?Wylan wrote:... so you say there is nothing wrong with a part of the world which is time-consuming to reach, yet has no reason to be there.
That certainly proves my main point: these areas should be changed.
I've met lot of opposition against weakening aggro in GoC, but noone has ever mentioned correcting to the other way: making it worthwile to be there.
Several people told me how easy is to get there, ignoring the fact that if you have no reason to be there, that part of Atys remains un used.

Re: New content / Old content
I actually used to dig in Heretic's Hovel. To avoid Wyac, mostly. I'd go in through the Kami teleporter, and then into the area outside of that scary Gibbai's lair. There were quite a few useful nodes in there, though not everything useful, I'm afraid.
Nope, I didn't travel it much - it's unhealthy without at least a couple people helping you out, especially in digging gear.
Just for a bit of a giggle in reference to Grove of Confusion...
Yes, I'm a Neutral. Nope, not complaining about it.
I cannot get a pact to Grove of Confusion, but I am now to a point where Jeziellia's crafting and digging in the Forest *requires* me to dig there for the appropriate materials. (Second best digging is q160 in the desert.) So for my part... Um, yes. It's VERY much worth digging in. And if I could kill those ... ....... .. .. .. ..... jugula, I would! *grins*
It takes 10 minutes of non-stop running, assuming I can avoid all aggro (it does happen!), to get from the gates of Yrkanis, to the Sap Slave encampment. If there isn't a hawker there to 'help me out', it's not worth the run to dig there. In order to get to the hawker when she sits in Ginti workshop, I have to dodge some nasties. Nasties I usually can't dodge. *grins*
Just a little extra perspective on a couple of the zones with which I have experience. I honestly don't have any comments on pretty much anything else.

Re: New content / Old content
GoC is the most difficult (time consuming) level 250 zone to reac for neutrals.
Scorched Corridor has OO right outside - so long as you only need to get into Flaming Forest and no further.. Loria has HH just the other side of the portal, Void can be reached from south or west regions with minimal effort.
I havent timed it, but feel its about as long to run from Yrk or TP to KoD then run from there.
As a neutral, I have found it worthwhile to get neutral fame with the Ancient Dryads, so I have another possible hawker, and a place to run from Vispa (after all, respawning will cost me another 10 minute run on top of all the other inconvenience)

Re: New content / Old content
I also used to go into Heretic's Hovel occasionally since I found it easier to get certain specific materials there than in Upper Bog, though it was only in the upper part, not down in the maze areas.
I've now been digging in Grove of Confusion for a while, mostly near Sap Slaves and Kami altar, though I have explored most of the other seed/amber spots (most of the amber spots being a pain to try and dig solo when you don't have any skills to kill things there).
I started as neutral, but very quickly got sick of having to run from Knoll of Dissent every time I died, or wanted to teleport somewhere else and help someone or join a group then return to digging. Sure it's possible and not particularly hard, but it does get tiresome after a while, especially if you frequently stop digging to do other stuff. So you're stuck with either a lot of running all the time, or being very restricted, neither of which is fun.
Though I can understand this would be hard if you need the packers for storing things, which would be solved with various suggestions for improving that aspect of the game.

I actually do this all the time, it doesn't take long to ride up there, and I find it easier to simply fill up my packers and then go to town and craft, rather than worry about where the hawkers are etc. It also makes it easier to get to some of the harder to reach places if you have your mount there, along with HA.This is just laziness. There is nothing wrong with trekking your mount and packers.
>>>Okay, how many players have you seen in the last month trekking their packers to GoC from Yrk and then back.

Thank you Jeziellia, iwojimmy and isanda for sharing your experience with us.
Unless I misunderstood something you seems to indicate that you use the same area of GoC as I mentioned as frequented by players. (near SS, near kami TP)

Just 3 things:
- I get my 250 melee in GoC on great jugs and I always went there in a duo team: was not even AoD at the time. So it is doable easily in duo over lvl 200...
- Correct me if I am wrong but THERE IS anete fiber in GoC: the most northern point of the map, where the great kinchers are.
The anete spot is just below the Kipucka spawn: I so remember guild expedition there with one digger and the rest of us camping the kipuckas..
Was real fun if it wasn't for the regular Kiro and kinc paying visit as well
- Now, some of your points are geniune as a new player, you even accepted some criticisms but sorry to say that the rest of your posts do not really show that you can take critiscm
