Cant Start the Game help!!

I have looked at the these threads and tried everything they say to do...Download the full version..download the short version..I have done both several times and every time it still won't work.

What is happening is that it will download and install fine..but when I go to play it, all it does is bring up the installer/repair window.

my comp spec's are:

Intel Pentium 4 2.6Ghz
1Gb of Ram

Video Card is a Nvidia GeForce 6600

looking around In see that the router ports could be the problem.but Im on a college campus..nothing I can do about them..that leave me SOL?

What is happening is that it will download and install fine..but when I go to play it, all it does is bring up the installer/repair window.

go to "c:\program files\ryzom" directory and double click on client_ryzom_rd.exe
should bring up game if installer didnt mess up something. if that works, just make shortcut to desktop

Ok now its saying that it cant find 'nel_drv_opengl_win' I have no idea what this is..any help?

Try clicking on ryzom_configuration_rd - this will bring up the configuration window. Then click on 'Display' and set it to Direct3d. That will bypass it looking for OpenGL. Let us know what happens then...

hmm I dont have the configurer in my ryzom files...

It sounds as though your install did not finish completely. Go to Start > Programs > Ryzom > Uninstall Ryzom. Unfortunately, you may have to start over. It's a pain, as it's a big file and takes a long time. If you have files missing, it likely simply didn't come down fully.

hmm I dont have the configurer in my ryzom files...

check unpack folder in ryzom folder.
move .dll and .exe out from it (to ryzom folder). if there is client_default.cfg, move it out from there too.

try to run client_ryzom_rd.exe again or client_background_downloader_rd.exe if ryzom does not run.

if you cant find the files in unpack folder, then i'm afraid you need to do reinstall (for first try, dont uninstall ryzom. just install it to same directory. in theory, it skips redownloading all that 600MiB+ again)

Ok guys, ive uninstalled and redownloaded/installed 8 times now and I still cannot get a full install..I always have to go look for a bunch of dll files, and I never have the config.exe in the file.

I manually went into client_default.cfg and edited so that it used direct3d but when I did it gave me this error.

The application or DLL C:\Program Files\Ryzom\nel_drv_direct3d_win_rd.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check against your instillation diskette.


I there any other place besides the Official website that I could try downloading this? Or anyone else have any ideas?
