Hey Gameforge!
I was just curious about the status of spires? As I understood it, Jessica Mulligan wanted them as a balancing factor to outposts, but after loads of player protests Nevrax decided it needed some rethinking.
Did you scrap them permanently or are they still on the todo-list? How far into implementation did Nevrax come? Were they not such a good idea?

Re: Spires?
They've not been abandoned but are on standby. Spires are on our long term list of doable things and so we might decide to continue them after our current projects are released. However they're not as close to be implemented as before as we'd have to adapt them to the shards evolution.

Re: Spires?
Thanks for the reply, Marjo. I'd been wondering about that too.
Re: Spires?
I feel, more content needs added to Ryzom, as does everyone!
I think GF needs to focus on non-PVP content first though. (I.E.) finish the encyclopedia quests and fix them, add more quests, get the kitin lair out, work on adding new lands to explore along with new creatures and races and, put more stanzas in for all the trees that could be linked to quests as well as crafting plans so we have a reason to quest and get a feeling of satisfaction and reward for doing the quests. By all means I'm not saying don't fix known PVP issues as those need attention too, but just to not make that the primary focus.
As was stated in other threads please don't word the quests to make it look as though the player taking the quest is the sole hero of Atys if they complete the quest, but let the player know they are helping in an on going deed/battle for their race or hominkind. Please no weapon or armor rewards at all!
Just my two dapper!

Re: Spires?
Another request along those lines is please don't make it so that we gotta dump our efforts. For example.....let's say I look at encyclopedia and say, well as a crafter I shud do the Fyros durability rite first. Then there is a zorai rite that gives a new animatition for the 250 fear spell that makes my toon jump in air eyes pop outta head, ears get real big, he shakes his head and screams "Great Boogely Wooglely". Thinking that will be amusing, I head over to get it and fine that my fame is capped below the level needed and I need to renounce my citizenship and lose all fame to go do this.zanthar wrote:I feel, more content needs added to Ryzom, as does everyone!I think GF needs to focus on non-PVP content first though. It's one thing for reasons of variability to limit choices, which I don't object to.....it's another to tease the player by giving the option but only by throwing away weeks of work
Oh, and one should be able to "turn off" any skill gained by a rite....the harvest time bonus for example for the unwary is a toon killer.
