Problem with the ryzom downloader that i just can't fix!

hi all. Today i saw ryzon, it looked like a good game so i went to the free trial place and started downloading it. The ryzom "downloader" Downloaded correctly, but then after that, it would go to the download progress bar, and then it would stay at zero, and i thought to myself, that's weird. So i checked the support pages and they suggested that you open up some ports, and i unblocked the program from my norton antivirus menu, and tried to restart the downloader. Then it began to download really, i mean really, slowly. It got to about 1 percent and then an error message popped up telling me something about checking my internet connection because it wasn't connecting. I have a pretty above normal computer, and normally when i download games they go pretty fast. I DON"T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO! Can someone please recommend something because i have no idea what to do next. And I woulden't want to miss out on what looks likee such a good game, right? Please help, yours sincerely, Aaron.

Edit: I'm now starting to download the free trial with fileplanet, and i hope it is going to work, so ill tell you if it doesn't

For i know there are some problems with the small client, try downloading the bigger one and it should function as i understand.

The following ports are used by Ryzom. If you experience problems with connecting to the game, please make sure you may have the following ports open in your firewall(s) and network router:

UDP 47851 to 47860 (game)
TCP 80 (support)
TCP 443 (account creation from launcher)
TCP 40916 (login/patch)
TCP 43434 (patch)
TCP 48851 to 48860 (Ring)
TCP 50000 (forum)
