sound problems

I use a diamond extreme 5.1 pci sound card. But sometimes i have to relog a couple of times to get sound in the game. Can i get some help about this? I don't have problems with any other game or anything else with sound.

Could be that this is a known issue, see this thread. I've come across it a few times in the past, including once just last weekend. About a year ago I switched what used to be the latest sound card drivers for an older set I had, and that seemed to cure it until now.
