Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

I disagree. That that should be possible is the whole point of the Ryzom skill system. Once you have one skill to 250, additional grinding in other skills doesn't make you any more powerfull, just opens up more possibilities. That's the reason why there are dozens of seperate skills that all cap at 250. If a 20-master player is equivalent to 5 3-master players, that would mean a character's power depends on their total amount of levels. It's effectively the same thing as getting rid of all the skill trees and replacing them with a single combat level that doesn't cap.

Aye I've put across an extreme example. Realistically next to no one would ever bother to achieve all-master even with the potential goals. It would take a long time to get that. But it isn't too unrealistic for people to achieve 5 or 6 masters in combat with a goal structure, in a few months. I think that mid-range is where the majority of people would end up! But importantly people wouldn't think "why am I bothering to even grind more than one 250" they'd see that they will benefit from grinding out more masters, and stick around longer because of it!

Aye but aswell as buying new stanzas and such, I'd like to see a player get more powerful. Higher base stats, faster regens. While we should expand on the potential of adding to stanzas etc. with multiple 250's, I do think the number of 250's in and of itself should play a part aswell!

I'd like to see more power to the individual, relying on others in large numbers isn't a good thing even in an mmo imo, especially in this kind of sand box game, where there is too much power in players hands and less to mechanically balance things, theres no equilibrium!

*something like this would have been good! That was the first +7 since the game went live and only yesterday was it achieved. Something for a player to strive for, for a long time. This exact thing wouldn't perhaps work too well in ryzom, but it's just an example of a long term goal.
Very little in ryzom is unattainable, all recipes just require the collecting and mixing of mats. Everyone knows how to make the 9797s and the 9 parry's etc or they can get the mats to get someone else to craft. All of this kind of stuff was great for those people that were first trying to achieve them, but now everything seems common knowledge. Perhaps that's a sign of Ryzom's age?
