I just formatted and installed Windows XP Professional, then tried to install Ryzom from the new installer "ryzom-installer_060928.exe", it unpacked then I selected the install directory and I get a box saying:
Ryzom install error
Error: -2 Transform Package
I tried again with the old installer I still had on my HDD "ryzom-installer_062006.exe", but the same thing happens. I haven't changed any hardware, just went from Win2K to WinXP.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do?
I couldn't find this error already mentioned on the forums.
Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
maybe try updating windows installer ? or maybe you dont have sp2 installed (ehh, dont even know if it's required for install shield version Ryzom uses)isanda wrote:Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do?
Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
I have SP2, Windows Installer 3.1, and all the Windows updates installed.
Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
It appears Ryzom's setup file doesn't like being on a different drive to the one you're installing it on, I moved it all to C drive and it worked fine

Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
Glad you sorted out something that works for you, but I have never installed onto the same partition as the installer myself. Always the same drive, however.
Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
Probably related to swapfile and/or freespace on installer drive or the drive set as the temporary files location.
Re: Install error "Error: -2 Transform Package"
Swap file was set to 2GB on C, 63GB free space on C and 248GB free on D, separate hard drives.
Pretty certain I installed it from a different partition under Win2k, same hard disk though, and if I recall correctly I had the swap file there also.
Whatever the reason I'm just glad it works
Now I need to work out why my sound isn't working in game after reinstalling...
