Thanks for clarifying what you meant, and I take it back about the head in the sand.

I'm mostly a digger so umm filthy rich, but trying to put myself in your shoes..

most crafters will buy mats for a minimum of 6k, often up to 8 or 10. Lets say you hunt najab in void for an afternoon with 3 people, they take about 15 seconds to kill, lets make it 30 with time to pull factored in. drop generally at least 6 mats. thats ~75000 dapper per minute - around 25k each for your team of 3. doesn't seem too bad...

numbers completely made up ofc - but i am being generous with them, 2 highish level nukers can clear a spawn of great najab in about a minute ;) , the point being mats are snapped up if you price them correctly and sell large stacks..

Before I even started to dig, I solo'ed Ele from 0-250. From 230 onwards I sold all the Jugula mats I had, on to players. I think, getting from 230-250 in one combat skill alone got me about 40 million dappers. If you want money in combat, kill the predators to level, they drop far more mats.

I cringe at the thought of increasing the price of TPs. I just made my first million dappers today, after 2 months in game. Thankfully my guild loves me enough to supply me with my basic needs, so dappers were never completely necessary, but up until recently TPs were costing me all I could get, and I occasionally had to bum dappers for TP tickets. Without the support of my guild, my progress would have been severely hampered by poverty.

Of course, without my guild, I would never have been able to reach some of those TP points yet anyway, so maybe that point is moot. Regardless, don't forget the new players in your calculations. We're not ALL made of dappers.

I can understand and sympathize with a new player's perspective on the teleport cost thing. On the other hand, it would be cool to see mektoubs in greater use. The maximum number of mounts a character can own should probably be raised in that case, though.

I think mektoubs should simply be allowed to teleport.

Best for economy is to take dappers entirely out of Ryzom IMO.
Don't get it why ppl wanna have eco (in the sense of dappers/market) in a game , isn't enough eco in RL ?
As for me i enjoy content above eco and to be a dapper millionaire.
Second thing is why there should be the ability to buy things at all ? vendors should be taken out of Ryzom too.
This should be a MMO and if you wanna have items earn them by hunting , questing, asking nicely a crafter and exchange.
just my thoughts. Enjoying Ryzom so far but if it degrade to Eco game i ll leave.
For those who wanna play eco games, there is already "poker online" or "second life" etc...

heu i got 500 milllion + of those worthless things, just sell ur loot it makes u rich
(not to mention i spend +/- 500k daily porting)

if one tries hard 1000 million is easy with crafting offcourse (and digging)

*blinks at pavmelas* I partially agree with that. The concept of economy itself has a corrosive effect, but the only MMOG that doesn't have any is MO:UL.

The idea of earning items from hunting and questing is not good, though. Makes crafters worthless, and one of this game's strengths is its meaningful crafting.
