This looks really bad to any new player going to the main land, if I was new to the game I may have logged out and never logged in again.

Yes, but as I mentioned at the stables (after my crew dropped me off :) the server had been fairly active for most of the day then, it being Sunday night CST a lot of US people logged off to get ready for their work week. About an hour before you arrived it had been lively, which is the essential problem with annecdotal reports, they aren't an actual metric.
However somewhere there are actual statistics and they do likely show a drop in activity in the past couple of weeks and if people have been bailing for Aris, then that would explain the drop, it's a created crisis.

I know your trying to support your server and I thank you for your offers of help when I saw you at the stable but I have logged into Cho many time since it opened and never seen more than 3 Homins in Yrk. I know there are more players in other towns but as a player starting a Matis char this is a real turn off not to have anyone to play with.

When Cho opened there where lot of players that left Aris to start a new life on Cho, but I have seen these players spending a lot more time on Aris now. If Cho is as good as they say it is, why do they not stay there?

I logged in to Cho on Sunday in the early afternoon and was immediately confronted with direct evidence that people are transferring off that server to Arispotle - my jewelry, formerly marked as crafted by Attila, now bears the crafter name Attila(Arispotle). There were 5 other people on the island with me. There was no universe chat that I saw, and very little RoS region chat. I'd logged in with the intent to find out which mainland region would have the most players on during my playtime, but in after about two hours of solo grinding on the island, changed my mind about asking.

I hope there's a marketing "push" in time to save this server, as I'd hate to see people forcibly merged with any other server. I have been through that myself, have the wayfarer title and the sad memories of saying goodbye to a community and to the best CSR/Gamemaster team I have ever known. It's not fun and I hope you'll be spared the forced move. Maybe a little "out of game" promotion on some of the other websites (mmorpg.com, warcry, etc) would help prevent this?

Okay first of all, it's a static world with no placeables outside of OP buildings, so any discussion of the various merits of the two servers are going to have to center around community and play experience. Obviously with Cho gutted of players the former is not going to be something I can point at and the latter is something that will increasingly only be of interest to the anti-social.

Cho *was* getting to be as good as we said it was before the exodus, there was plenty to do with supporting each other in PvE, but as more people decide to jump it will be a self-reducing system.

I suppose could be fine with moving to Aris, if they double the spawn to give people the chance to straighten out their priorities, there is some PvPer howling I wouldn't mind listening to.

P.S. last night there was a discussion on Cho about having to dump Kami allegiance and go Kara with any move to Aris, simply out of aversion to being allied with Sun ce, At first blush, I will certainly grant the point.

This isn't directed just at you Sprite but partly at you at least. As a Cho player that has not played on Aripostle for one second since Cho was opened I would really appricate it if we can leave all the Aripostle Kami vs Karavan hate and polotics off this thread. If you feel the need to take pot shots at the other side of the conflict on your server there is two currently active outpost threads that are falling into the same old arguements and name calling, go post on those. Thanks.
