I know that, but I don't understand it. I feel bored of grinding if I do it for more than a few hours, so what do I do? I simply stop grinding and self-motivate into more interesting activities. Only two of my character's skills have surpassed 201. During these 22 months, I haven't been rushing or hurrying - instead, I've taken everything leisurely and savored the experience of the game like a pleasant wine.

I'm sure the Karas dont like winning like this! Just like kamis don't like losing like they are!

I'd suggest applying the option for the outpost owners to choose how many people will fight at their OP.
It's alot of fun when there are equal numbers of players, the battle can last for a long time and allow for diversity.

*Perhaps letting attackers choose the limit of participants for the attacking phase, and the outpost owners to choose the limit for the defense. Similar to what we have for the times!

For example

20v20
40v40
60v60
100v100
No Limit

So if for example the Karas did actually outnumber the Kami 2:1. That wouldnt mean there would be any unfair battles. The Kamis being the lower population could choose a lower limit, giving them a fair chance to win and keep their outpost, and Karas could choose a high or No limit if they wished.

It isnt about cats anymore now, its just about having a great battle. Which im sure both factions want!

*Just think about how diverse the battles could be with exactly the same numbers of participants! We would enjoy it so much more knowing we won because we were just better tactically! Every skill type would have to be used efficiently. Flanks and double flanks, splitting the forces up into mini skirmishes, cover the whole area of the outpost! No more >>>>>>>----<<<<<< attacks! We could have artillery positioned on the hill at this point. Melee running skirmishes at two main access points to the guards. Just multiple groups thinking and co operating! It would also mean that players feel less duty bound to attend OP wars at what ever time in the morning! An attacker can think " Right this is the op we want, ill ask around see what the potential for support is, and choose the player limit accordingly!" Players wont get fatigued! and generally more War will happen, Just on a lesser scale! and for those karas that still want what ever it takes to keep theyre op for cats! They just have to choose " No limit" for the defense!..and watch everyone else laugh at them for being cowards! But the key thing is of course theyd keep theyre OP! But more wars would occur that people have enjoyed being a part of!


Theres so much more potential for a great fight when the numbers are even! Weve had a 1 or 3 battles in the past 3 weeks where we were closer to even and both sides wiped a few times! Who wants to stand in an op and use numbers to just pulverise the other side! Thats just boring!...Its just boring in general now! Even the constant winning must be by now?

know what? i did the same, yet i cant help to feel same way as Yoshi does. He is right that there is no content whatsoever for those who prefer PvE...

about the topic:
well we all know OPs are flawed from a balance point of view, as owning an OP makes you stronger. Unfortunately, there is also no mechanism in place that makes aquiring an op for the stronger side harder the more OPs they have, or the bigger the distance from their home is.
This has been discussed in the past and we had replies from the devs that they saw it same way - yet we havent seen any reaction from their side.

So where does that leave us in the game? the Kara side, who had more numbers (and maybe better organization, or more aggressiveness) when OPs were introduced had a headstart, that couldn't be equalized by Kaami on a long term basis. Not by skill, not by tactics, not by gear. So Kami keep losing ground which leaves all to many Kami players frustrated.
The results we see now. Numbers at the last 2 op battles i attended were like 50:120.

Some ppl on KA side seem to find only motivation by trying to "rule" the planet, take all ops. Nothing in the rules against it. I think it is a mild exploit to use a flawed game design in a way it spoils players fun*), but there you are. I dont want to be a Kami depending on Karas goodwilll either

*) please dont give me the usual tongue-in-cheek stuff about "You dont want PvP don't own an OP" or "bah youre just not organized". Most if not all Kara guild leaders and their followers don't have the slightest idea about the effort many brave Kamis like Genia, Faa, Harvey, and the others have to put in to keep themselves motivated to fight a battle that cant be won, to keep their guildies motivated, to keep dragging them to battles. I deny any KA guild officer the right to deride their efforts in region chat or in the forums, it is not roleplay, it is bullying in the worst sense and it makes me have second thoughts about the often-sung community in the game.

My personal consequences are that i will no longer attend any OP battles. If Kara Alliance want to have all the OPs, they are welcome to it for all i care.

As far as I have heard, the other servers have been "owned" by a single faction or alliance - with no world shattering consequence although I am curious as to how they are doing. Its the restraint and forbearance of the Karavan Alliance that stopped them from overrunning Arispotle when the Kami side was completely disorganised. Now the Kami are showing signs of strength, so the OP battles retain some significance.

But winning all OPs doesnt achieve anything, and wont until GF progress the storyline. Just remember, its a game, and PvP is just one facet of that game.

SoTR isnt an alt guild I believe. For it to be an alt guild it would have to contain alts not our main toons.

we probably wont take the Op we fought over last night due to the timing of the next round, although I thought it was a good close battle of which I would like to see more of.

But I don't agree that Math is hard, unless by "hard" you mean hard to argue agains. 2 x 2 =4 , there's no way to argue the point otherwise.

When you log in for 3 hours for 3 weeks straight and only find a team in your level range during your playing hours twice in that time period something is happening. When all ya regular dig buddies (both kara and kami) haven't been on for weeks, except for OP battles) something is happening.

If you want to argue a PoV and use analogies like the NBA, you just can't dismiss them after they don't work for you anymore. Every professional "sport" has a balancing system called the draft which provides some benefit to the short side. If they didn't, stadiums would be empty and teams would fold. Of course team management can make bad choices but for the people putting the money down for tickets, each draft season brings new hope.

Talented teams (players and management) can be successful (a la NE Patriots) repeatedly but for the most part, come playoff time, there's always significant turnover and that's what keeps people interested. It's "not knowing who is gonna win" is what keeps it exciting.

Even kids choosing up sides for street ball use a balancing system....Team A wins over Team B, next game starts with Team B picking one player from the other side.

A player who "says" he enjoys it for "the challenge" has three options if the game gets to a point where one side is significantly more in control:

1) Join the other side
2) Be in favor of some sort of action which would make it interesting and the outcome not a foregone conclusion.
3) Admit, he just wants to win all the time.

I am not saying if or when such a condition exists at this or any other point in time. I am simply saying that when the game gets to a point where outcomes are a foregone conclusion it's B O R I N G and anything that makes it less so is good for the game.
