But any player can go and dig in any land.
Point out the prohibition against learning multiple harvesting skills, and I will admit you have a point.

The forest has more agro than any other surface land. The lakelands are more difficult to navigate. The jungle has the goo. And playing in the desert too long will get sand in your undies.

There is no significant imbalance between the lands. A minor perk or drawback here and there, but it adds to the variety of the game.

Suck it up and drive on, soldier!

This isn't a new line of conversation. The compartive advantages of each location have all been disscussed before. There is no real need to significantly alter the existing lands, and the opportunities are there for all.

Outside of the intrinsic fun of the discution itself, the argument is pointless.

I have bought thousands of grind mats and shopped for goods in Fyros, Zora and Matis......the trip to Avendale however just takes too long.

Thats the only thing that seems unfair to me. That and the Kara TP next to Kirokya :P But that has nothing to do with race.

The rest equels out between the races... Tryker for istance- EXTREMLY easy to get to ANY of there towns at level 1 ... But there ql200 and ql250 zones suck :p (Atleast to me I hate them all :p ) While Fyros is much harder to get to the other towns, But its ql 200 zones are easy to dig at... And the 250 zone is not hard (imo) usually either...

Tho to be honest, If you're careful enough, Even loria is not very bad. (been thru there with a lvl 21 alt and didn't die(From HH -Avendale) :p )

Are we speaking of the same Void here? Dangerous? You really will compare the peligrosity in Nexus (Where a good sneaker could easily be killed by mobs) with Void, where a newbie of lvl80 in my guild crossed completely without dead and almost without know how sneak?

C'mon, nexus is far more dangerous than SC, Loria or Void *.

ambika wrote:Your argument is null. Why? Simply because anyone can dig any land. I'm a Fyros with 250 Jungle forage. I didn't have to be Zorai to dig jungle. Sure, I had to run to that land and dig there but so can anyone else. If you want the Nexus sup, dig forest. There's nothing to stop a player from doing so.
It's only null when the information is provided before making a starting town skill choice. What race you are is immaterial do the fyros / zora thing doesn't hold, it's picking a skill tree to level before you find out that one of the four region specific skill trees has something to offer that the others don't ?

Would it be null if Fyros craft gave extra XP ?

Let's look at the informed versus uninformed situation:

Informed - A player on the verge of leaving Silan want to focus on digging and finds out he can dig 200 level exe mats right outside noob city essentially being able to level up to 200 w/o any significant hassle. Does this favor choosing to start in matis as oppossed to anotehr starter town ? If it does, then it should be fixed and the consensus seems to be that it is an irregularity that should be fixed.

Uninformed - After digging to level 200 I find out that if I had started in Matis I could be digging supremes. Now I can either start at level 50 and grind another 150 levels before I take advanatge of this or I say "crap, I wiush I had known this going in".

Again, if it's gonna stay, what is the objection to having equivalent opportunities in other regions ?

What about...

Uninformed - After digging to level 200 I find out that if I had started in Prime Roots I could be digging supremes. Now I can either start at level 50 and grind another 150 levels before I take advanatge of this or I say "crap, I wiush I had known this going in".

Should we remove PR too? Or give all lands sups because PR has them?

When in one of the FBT stages, we were only given Matis to play in, I found that out right quick. So Is topped going out the gate and instead went out to the west side working my way up on the herbs and brains till I could handle those buggers. But 5* gingoes routinely walk within 50m of the stable at Pyr....they just much easier to see there :)

Uhh...yeah...'cause anyone can learn the fyros crafts.

Seriously...have you been to that beng spot? I have...once, when doing the rite. WHICH IS WHAT IT IS FREAKING THERE FOR! It isn't overly abused. But, even so, there is a huge pack of hungry doggies on it. I think that qualitfies as 'significant hassle'.

And..umm..what consensus? Seems to me the consensus is you are wiggin' out over nothing.

Or, he can do what almost everyone does anyway...finish out the skill and start digging in PR. But, whatever...if flipping out over inconsequentials is your style, keep at it.

meh, no objection to that particular. But it is there for a specific purpose. If the other races want to offer a similar rite, that's fine too. The only objection is to your getting bent out of shape over this pile of amber nothing.

and not letting anyone who plays a matis call you on it.

but that is it, really, I swear.

How exactly does one "start" in Prime Roots ?

As far as I am aware, everyone has equal access to PR...everyone starts it as second skill tree. You can start PR before getting to 150 in a region if ya don't mind being hampered by the lack of PR Specialization. Some have done it, most I have talked to regretted it. Everyone who has dug to level whatever in a region has to start all over to dig PR supremes....opps except those who started forest dig.

Still why should there be a place to dig forest supremes and no place to dig jungle, lake and desert supremes ?

Geez what were they thinking, the Fyros, builders, have mats right by the cities, the Zoari, philosophers, are in an almost pastoral setting, the Matis , conquerors, have dogs at their gates, and the Tryker, scouts, have to walk/swim forever to get anywhere.

There needs to be design differences so there will be cultural differences, I would argue that their is not enough "imbalance" between the geography based regions. The regions should have differences, advantages and disadvantages. The 5 people who may actually read and study every written word about everything the game has to offer before they pick a race, prolly won't stay in the game because of PvP anyway.
