No new news on the News section of the mainpage

It is one month now, that the news section on the main homepage was updated. Isn't it possible to place new entries there since that part of the homepage was altered from dynamic to static?

Without actual news Ryzom could easily be assumed dead, if you don't trip over more actual entries in some deeper sections of the site, or the forums.

Another thing is that right now our website is static, meaning that we cannot post news on the website as easily as we used to. We had to make it static so that it could handle the additional visits we generated by our marketing campaign. The entire website is being reworked, so in the meantime we will post news in the "Announcements" section of the forum.

Mind you, there's been nothing in there since Feb 22nd either.

The thing that worries me the most is the lack of events. Atys is dead at the moment, there is no story, no lore. I don’t mean large scale events necessarily but there was always something going on. The new events team have had over two months now, and we have had.. nothing… what gives? Having a story, characters from it interacting with the players is/was a big part of the game. Maybe GF didn’t realise this went on, and the extent of it, but taking it away leaves a big hole.

Guys they have taken on a big project. They didnt just take on a game that made the previous development company go bankrupt, they also took on the development team. It takes a while for a company to re-structure things and get it on track to where it should be. We should be happy someone kept the game going, not constantly moaning.
A company wouldnt take a game on to destroy it, im sure they are working very hard behind the scenes. Not everything is going to be same as it was under nevrax, and what did we expect. Companies are here to make money, thats what they are trying to plan to do.

I guildie of mine talked to one of the CSR's last night and aparently events should be starting in about two weeks again (if my memory serves). Won't be invasions yet since they are large scale, but they certainly did not forget about them either.

I guess we'll see in a little more time how things with events will work out

As the website was changed to static, Marjo has created a section on the forums dedicated to news announcements in its place. It can be found here.

Events are something we are hoping to bring back relatively soon, but at this time, there is no time frame we can quote for you. The majority of the support team has only been instated less than a month, so things are still in the process of being worked out.

The event staff were with Jolt. Oops. The person who knew ALL of the Lore and assisted making sure the events did not contradict the Lore was also with Jolt. Oops again.

When Phelan said in future there would be "more events!" (when asked about future content) in his little Q+A session right after firing the events team you would would think he had a plan in place I guess...
