Trial problems

Ok, I'm downloading the trial, actually I already have....three times. Now at first I used the regular, way, just download and double click, well that didn't get very far. Then I made a shorcut, again that didn't work. Now I used Freshdownload and after all the dowloading it still doesn't work. (this takes about 3 hours per download, so I'm a little upset 8(). I have discovered one discrepency that is shared by all three attempts to install. Data1.cab and data11.cab are both (or at least one) corrupt. Can someone help me out here?

That could be due a few things:

- msinstaller may need repairing
--- look on the installshield site on fixing this

- lack of disk space while uncompressing

- antivirus could be interferring


You may also need to try the Torrent download - it is definitely more robust in a noisy network situation. Try doing a pingplot/tracert to the server site to see if there are any nodes that are misbehaving.

nothing works, tried everything you suggested, it just doesnt wanna play, when I click play, nothing happens, no pop ups, no error messages, absolutely no reactions. I guess I'll have to live without Ryzom, I just wonder how many more people tried free trial and end same as me...

I have had exactly this same problem. What and where is the new download like because when I go to the Ryzom site and use the download 2 there I have exactly the same problems described above. After a long, long download Data1 and Data11 corrupt. Download 1 doesn't work at all.

The last time I tried was Feb. 19 or 20.

I've played on and off for a couple of years but if I can't get this to run on my new computer I might as well drop my subscription.

Welcome back, Pete . If you are the Pete I know, then I have been missing you, honey.

I think I read somewhere else - possibly the linux thread - that Download link 1 is more reliable. Have you tried that?

Do all you can to be sure that you have no viruses or malware before you even begin the download.

Jamela, I think Download 1 have some problem, I got mine interrupted after few hours of dl'ing :S (3 times!)

So I use Download 2 and all goes well.

I do not know what's the different between these 2 sites, but they need some attention IMO.
