You won't hear me complaining about someone PvPing in a PvP zone. Its a risk you have to take to dig there. That being said, I do question the current situation.
My typical experience:
Guildy leveling dig in GoO, I go down and guard for a few hours.
Learned the safe routes, has no trouble with aggro. No one else in zone for hours. I do nothing.
Repeat next day, same.
Third day, let them go alone. Half hour later, killed in one nuke on their dig spot.
Port down to guard. The culprit is sitting at the TP.
Guard for two hours, no action at all. Bored.
Port out.
Ten minutes later, they're nuked again. I port down, culprit goes and sits at the TP again.
Sooo...
That may be "tactically" smart for war time.
But this is a game...
Who is that fun for?
Not the lvl 150 player who can't digin GoU. They have no chance of escaping an AoD.
Not me, the guard, who sits around for hours with nothing to do.
I think the GvG zones would be a lot more fun if there was actually a lot *more* PvP because right now I can't find it

Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
/agreeIf you enter into a PvP in dig gear and a pick, you take the chance to die from mobs and homins.
From an RP perspective I'm stopping the Karavaneers from stealing Ma-Duk's resources and exploiting them for their own selfish reasons. From any other reason, well, I can do what I want it's a game, stop whining .
And Biskibis, no need to apologize or feel guilty or even justify your actions. This is a game, you can play as you want. My main thought in other thread wasnt to show you as ganker. All i wanted to say that Kamis are no more honorable than Kara. So before talking **** in game, dear Kamis, look at yourself first.
P.S. Btw from now on i am perma tagged again (except at guild events or if i asked by team members on hunts). Everyone who want can come and get me, bring as many ppl as you want i wont start to whine.

Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
Not Directed at Biskibis, but gankers in general, most don't kill for Rp value just to be jerks
How do you find any enjoyment in killing a digger? not much difference in killing a level 50 carpyni , and if your in it for role play, you better only dig for requred mats (grind mats aren't required either are gear mats ) because kami on take whats required to survive supposedly eh?
No ones saying that it isn't allowed killing diggers. Was never in question.
How did it change from such a little period of time, from rare ganking to people camping the zone waiting for someone to start digging? You know who you are, stay at the tp's and wait till someone in dig gear leaves them
There will always be a moral and ethical battle between people who think actions such as hurting the weak for being in a danger zone is wrong, and those who think it's there fault. You won't be able to change that and as long as people are selfish or derive pleasure from killing the weaker or defenseless you will always see such actions. There are side effects to digging in pvp zone. There only just beginning to come into play though. Never forget people have long memories though, harm person a, and person a wont be there to support you ever again. You just lost yourself a possible friend/ally/crafter. Don't forget when you out there killing Digger 2, that you just alienated a future Master Heavy Armor crafter, and who knows digger 2 could have been a real life friend of a master jeweler whom will no longer make jewelry for you. Such actions will get what they deserve in the end .

Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
Hmm... sounds like an instance in which the colored-star level indicator would be useful for homins. If this feature from Episode 2 was re-implemented, and also tweaked so as not to treat harvest levels equal to combat (perhaps by dividing the level in half, as it does for dodge modifes) , one could get an idea of who he was targetting in these zones.sehracii wrote:Not the lvl 150 player who can't digin GoU. As far as more PvP, I think that would be great. As Pero mentioned in the original thread, any "PvP alternative" to outposts is rare, and weak at best. It also seems that the occasional clash in Yrkanis has trickled off, so outpost battles were (and will probably continue to be) pretty brutal and numerous, if not at purposely odd times.
Biskibis, you distinguished two types of foragers: those that dig for levels, and those that dig for items of war. I would think of low-level diggers as "dishonorable" targets, and the masters hitting the supernodes, or watchful "guards," as honorable ones in a bit of PvP fun. Perhaps this could be made to resemble the Yrkanis skirmishes, but over meaningful resources instead.
We just need to stop pointing fingers at each other and make sure the dishonorable things stop on both sides.audrimas wrote:All i wanted to say that Kamis are no more honorable than Kara.

Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
sometimes you need to enter PvP zone even when you dont want to.japamala wrote:If you deliberately go to a place where you can get freely attacked, you have to accept the consequences.
2 cases:
one to trek between zora and tryker (yes, can go around, but is it really an option ? takes 3 hours vs ~10min in ToT)
second is nexus. 2 neutral teleports there for.. wait for it... non pvp pr digging regions. oops
while Abys could be trekable from matis side (neutral tp there too), but wastelands ? 90% mortality. while dp does not matter much, it does for pr diggers who still digs for xp.
so, if you see digger/group, make sure he/she does not run to non-pvp zone . there is no exuse of killing non-pvp'er in these 2 situations. none.
like i said, pvp zone is forced on them by devs not thinking clear.

seems I have work to do, in my absence undesirables have moved into my territory.
Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
I have done that trek, and from my experience, Varinx and kinchers were the main problem. if you can't deal with them, then you shouldn't be complainig about gankers.blaah wrote: one to trek between zora and tryker (yes, can go around, but is it really an option ? takes 3 hours vs ~10min in ToT)
and don't you not get DP from PvP?

Marvellous, another insightful proponent of PvP.
Re: Killing (ganking) in the PR
You can sneak Varinix and Kinchers at any level you have; a lvl1 can sneak it, because level no matters at all for sneaking.japamala wrote:I have done that trek, and from my experience, Varinx and kinchers were the main problem. if you can't deal with them, then you shouldn't be complainig about gankers.
But the fact of you being capable to sneak Kinchers don't mean necessarily that you could match a ganker.
I was trekking through nexus, doing a lot of sneak when SunCe ganked me. I was in focus gear, only traveling from one PR zone to another. And I was a 120 melee (And 160 forage). I haven't problems with kinchers or Varinix, i could handle it well sneaking, but I had trouble with gankers.
