Your view of it seems fair to me, the other one you described sounds like they view other players as their hated enemies. my take on it is I act alone when I'm not doing something faction related, but as soon as it becomes related my enemy is my enemy. Sunce will tell you I'll dig his spots, help him out etc all day long, but as soon as we are participating in large/small scale pvp we kill each other without a second thought.
