Game turns off After character screen

Post by zayle »

Okay, when I log in, the game loads and relaunches just fine. But when I get to the character screen (with rotating question marks) I end up back on my desktop with an "error report" window. When I start the game, a window pops up telling me that the driver has failed to allocate AGP memory. It asks me if I want to know more and I click yes, but nothing happens. I don't know if this failure to allocate AGP memory has anything to do with the game failure. Has anyone had the same problem or can anyone help me?

Could you be a little bit more specific on the 'error report' you get and perhaps mention what video card and drivers you are using? (run dxdiag from the Start/Run menu if you're not certain)

The failed AGP memory allocation basically means Ryzom hasn't been able to initialise your video card's AGP connection if it has one. You can click 'No' to continue with the game, but without knowing what kind of card you have it's not guaranteed to work. Note that some on-board video chips are not AGP capable.

If you do have a video card that is AGP capable then you may need to update your video drivers. Make sure to do this cleanly by downloading the latest drivers, removing the current ones, rebooting your system and then installing the new drivers.

I'll try that. Thanks! The "error report window is just the one on windows asking you to report to windows when some certain errors occur.
