I have been playing Ryzom for about a month now with no problems at all. Suddenly, over this weekend, I've started getting frequent disconnects from the server. I can barely take two steps before I get the dreaded "Please Wait", and it lasts long enough (10-15 minutes) that I usually end up quitting before it ever reconnects me.
I've checked my machine for viruses/spyware, cleared my cache and rebooted. Does anyone have any other ideas for what may be causing this? Since I had been playing just fine before, I don't think it's a firewall/router issue unless something changed server-side since Friday.
Edit: I just remembered something that has changed on my side. I installed a new Citrix connection to my employer's network. Could that be interfering, somehow?
Thanks!

Re: Sudden Frequent Disconnects
Greetings there. If you installed any programs on your computer that you play Ryzom with that will cause certain ports to be used for both Ryzom and Citrix, that could be a potential problem.
Or if the program blocks certain packets through ports, this would give you the constant please waits. If you could try from a different computer to connect on another ISP and see if you still get the Disconnects.
Then you can move that computer to your ISP. Sometimes your ISP actually stops allowing their customers the full bandwidth available to be able to share with all those who connect. Sometimes this limiting can cause interrupted service, also the way your ISP connects through the Hops to our servers at GameForge is also another factor.
From time to time certain servers along the way from ISPs around the world can route the wrong way and cause packet loss and high pings. This unfortunately cannot be fixed by yourself or GF, you will just have to ride those out until those servers get fixed or route properly. In the mean time, you can try to reboot your router/modem in attempts to force a new connection route or update your router's firmware.

Re: Sudden Frequent Disconnects
I emailed my IT people at work to see if OpenSSH (which I had to install to get Citrix to work) blocks ports or acts like a firewall in any way. I'll wait to see what they have to say. Unfortunately, not having OpenSSH isn't an option since I need that connection for work.
I also don't have any other PCs that I can test on.
I ran PingPlotter and this is what it said. Unfortunately, I don't know how to interpret this information.

I've been looking at the OpenSSH website trying to get some idea of how it works, but I'm not familiar at all with networks and such, so most of this is going right over my head.
Is anyone out there familiar with it?

Re: Sudden Frequent Disconnects
First of all the ping plot you ran was to the old servers IP.
The new one is 83.141.21.125.
Second, since you don't have another computer,
see if you can turn off the OpenSSH and then check to see if the game works.

As far as I know, OpenSSH is off. After I finish my work, I log out of Citrix and close the .bat file for OpenSSH by clicking the "x" in the corner. If I do that, is OpenSSH not really closed?

Re: Sudden Frequent Disconnects
Well...maybe it was just an intermittant problem. I logged in and was able to play 1/2 hour without a problem. (Logged out because I had to go, not because of problems.)
I thought something must be amiss since it lasted several days (5 days). If I can continue to play for another day or two without the PW overkill, I'll thank the internet gods that it's working and just continue about my business.
