Hi folks of the ryzom community.
I have a problem. The guid Reapers of the Dark has some information which is not their property, and when asked for its return I was greeted by an IP ban. I thought this was a very simple and reasonable request.. this information may be used to identify and/or impersonate me, and is not their property. After a minor discussion, I contacted their site administrator (jayce), who responded by banning my ip address and ignoring in game tells. He was uncooperative, as well as unwilling to assist me in receiving my personal information back.
I seek remedy for this theft of personal information as soon as is practical, I have made contact with the individuals involved, yet they have chosen not to speak to me, or assist me in any manner.
I need the return of any information that is not theirs to keep, as well as some evidence it has been destroyed. (SQL logs showing the deletion of said information from servers under their direct control).
If anyone in the community has advice for how I may have this personal information returned, I'd greatly apprecaite it. I have also posted here to warn you to be wary when joining a guild, it appears some are not what they seem, and rather than complying with my reasonable request have not returned my information, I have no idea what use they have put it to, but I am very concerned that something very wrong may happen because of this identity theft.
Thank you! And let this not happen to you!

Re: Personal Information
How can they give back personal information? Where have they put it and how have you lost it? If it's some kind of password theft or something like that, simply change password on the service(s) using it.
Good luck to you but I reckon it's hard for the community to help you with this personal conflict with RotD.

Re: Personal Information
First of all, this IS somethingthat needs to be taken seriosuly. When you join a guild or a guild's froum I should say, you might place information in there that they can later use for their benefit.
It should never be RL valueable information, such as Social Sec number, bank account information, credit cards, or anything like that. IF you see someone asking for this information, then you should know to never join up with someone like this.
IF you are saying that you joined their guild forum and are afraid that they will use your information on thier boards, then I'm not sure what to tell you. What will they do? Use it post as you? I guess that you are leaving out huge chunks of this story, wether it is for your benefit or theirs I'm not sure.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here, because when accusations fly on a widely read public forum such as this, you have to be EXTREMELY careful with the details and with the story.
IF they stole credit card information, or something of that RL nature, there are a million things you can do to stop them from using it or from stopping them from ever getting any use out of your name.
Sorry, I hope this helps...I don't want to fuel more fire, but if someone knows what's going on here, for the sake of the community, get it resolved!

Re: Personal Information
Totally agree with Beau, I wasn't sure to reply because there could be so much going on we have no clue about.
I get the impression that this supposed very important information was login username and password on the guild's site? In that case I'm not sure I see the big issue, unless you can prove they were posting things mascarading as you. I've been main admin of a guild's site and I would NEVER have used such information to do this or let anyone.. If there's bad blood between you and your former guild mates that sucks, but it's not cool to come here and give a bad impression of them either, unless there's hard proof..
Peace to everyone!

Re: Personal Information
Calling people criminals and thieves is potentially libelous, any information entered into a public forum is no longer your property, and in any event is subject to the rules of the forum in which you voluntarily participate.
Min I thought better of you than this, considering the conversation we had immediately after I banned you from the guild.

Re: Personal Information
Min,
Break ups are never easy... be they guild or relationships. I'm sorry that you feel the need to air your hurt in such a way.
The general community of Ryzom can not help you or us... and so I see this as slander.. and I'm hurt.
... the threat of legal action... Min! We don't know what you -want-
