Error : patch files failed

"Error: patch files failed - checking."

this should only happen when ryzom dont have access to patch server and cant download index file.
what patch number does it say ?

I have used the newest installer...

because of some genius at gf didnt think it's neccessary to update installer file name, you can never be sure you got the right insaller

if you runned recovery, then reinstall and check client_default.cfg file (and change if neccessary)

Thanks for the reply. It says patch number 500. I'm at work at the moment so I can't confirm this right now, but if I recall correctly, in my client_default.cfg file, the StartupPage is listed as "/index.php," not what you said it should be, "/login2/r2_login.php." I had already changed StartupHost to "rslogin.juk.shards.nevrax.com:40916" earlier. Could that be the culprit? Having the wrong StartupPage? I can't wait to get home and see if changing that works.

yes, patch 500 had startuppage as "/index.php", but just changing StartupPage will not work in this case i'm afraid (unless this is after ryzom_recovery, then reinstall).

check installer size. dl server says it should be 1,818,001,584 bytes (1.7G).
I'm gonna download this and test the new installer. should work according to GameForge.

If editing your startup host does not work, please download the new client.

I did a complete uninstall and reinstalled the new client, and that seems to have done the trick. Got into the game without any problems whatsoever. Thanks, blaah and tydamus!
