Disconnects... even with a D-Link!

Post by gurkan91 »

Hi, i wonder if anyone could help me because i have disconnection problems. On other threads people say that D-link routers works perfectly, I myself have a Dl-624 but i get the disconnections anyway. If i connect directly to the computer it works fine... Please can anyone help me describe how to forward ports on a D-Link!

:)

from Lawrences/Zerlins sticky for your reference:

Outgoing Ports:

The following ports are used by Saga Of Ryzom. If you experience problems with connecting to the Game, you may have to open the following outgoing ports manually in your firewall(s) and network router:

UDP 47851-47860 (game)
TCP 80 (support)
TCP 40916 (login)
TCP 43434 (patch)
TCP 10670-10679 (not sure)

Game server IP range: 213.208.119.0 - 213.208.119.255
Patch server IP:
Klients port: TCP 6001

That might help. :) I have a D-Link router as well. Never had any disconnect problems, but I might be able to help with the port forwarding.

Are the problems only with Ryzom ?, or general connection issues ?
Hope you are not using AOL as your internet provider...their software does not like any computer that 'hides' behind an IP address they can't track directly to your computer. AOL have a list of routers they support if needed.
If not that, then are you wireless connected ?. Check you have good signal strength...lost information 'packets' can = lost connection in games, or at the least annoying 'pauses'.

Hi, I'm having problems again... I opened the ports and it worked fine, then the next day i got FS Lost again.... i downloaded the latest Firmware and the router resetted and i opened the ports again, it worked fin until today.... can anyone tell me why im getting these problems again??

Could it be because when i opened the range of ports i had to fill in the IP range and the router said that the fourth range had to be between 1 and 254,
so i changed it to that??

Original: 213.208.119.0 - 213.208.119.255
After change: 213.208.119.1 - 213.208.119.254

Can someone please help me?

I'm not one of the brightest in computer technology, to put it like that.
But I've done what I think you told me to do, but my ryzom still keeps telling me to "please wait". Sure one thing I can do to keep me from waiting is to click on quit-character select-back to game. Then I can play in about two minutes but this takes all the fun out of the game when it lages near a dangerus monster. Could someone please help me in a more specific way, how to orginize my ports and stuff to keep me from "please waiting".

Nothing beats your documentation for showing how to log in and set up your router. Barring that, http://www.portforward.com has lots of shots for various brands of networking equipment. Searching on Google will also show you the way.

The Networking FAQ shows the basics for a LinkSys router and Windows XP Firewall. Anything else you will need to consult Google or your specific help/documentation for your stuff.

You can drop by Klients and we will help as best we can.

I never had any problems playing Ryzom through a D-Link so this should be the 'right' way of setting your router.

You can also do it in the firewall tab if you want, but the setting is a bit more complex.
