That matches exactly my first thoughts, after reading the eMail.

Yeah, but hey they are trying here ;)
They send it to all inactive accounts too i think (at least i got some more) and it might be good to get some old players back.

I was involved in the final beta of the game, but haven't started playing the game "for real" until now. And yesterday I got that e-mail giving me the impression that if I'd just waited 1 week more with the subscription, I would have gotten 30% discount.
I pm:ed a CSR in-game to straighten the matter out, and so I did. But as the rest of you that e-mail put me off a bit. As in where they keep us in their databases; as part of the community or together with the ones who have quit the game.

On an other note, I compared the prices a bit and subscribing for 3 months would earn me approx. €4. So I'm pretty safe to say there's no reason in putting in more money than the monthly subscription if you don't go 6 months; the other options are just to similar in pricing, imo.

While I appreciate and thank GF for their efforts in keeping ppl up to date and uh... "reminding" some old players that Atys is still around, I think their implementation of the emails leaves a lil to be desired - another thing that hasn't been picked up on yet is that people with 2 accounts only got one email. Now you might think that this is a good thing because they don't have a "useless" email in their inbox, but tbh I was a little worried they'd forgotten about the other account :o

I've made dozens of accounts, and got only two emails, one at each of the two addresses I have used to sign up. Neither email was to an account which is or had ever been subscribed. I'd guess that they filtered their records by subscription and by email address, at least, which saved me from getting spammed :) . Thanks GF ;) . The email did not seem inappropriate given the accounts it was addressed to. As a long-time subscriber, I can see how the wording wasn't the greatest, but it's just a form email. I checked that my subscription rate wasn't changing, then binned it.
