Major problems downloading all the patches...Help!

Well so I recently bought Ryzom and ofcourse I want to play ASAP, but the problem is that I cant even get through the downloading progress.

Everytime I try to download the patches (around 2gig), I get past the first screen and the download starts, and everything is fine until the I get a window saying that the game is going to relaunch, and after that a window about some problems with C++ in Windows...Very frustrating.
My firewall's fine, everything is up to date and I have checked the FAQs/stickies but I cant seem to find the problem!

And since I have to restart all the time (I always get to download around 50mb before the game restarts) it will take ages for me to get started with the game!

Sorry about the bad grammar but I hope I can get atleast SOME advice what to do. Because I have never had any problems DLing big patches for other MMO's...

U tyred deleting ryzom and the folders and did after that a full reinstal?

installing from cd ? dont. just download it (1.7G) from net (use download manager and not browser plz)
edit: hmm, seems main site still thinks its under ddos attack. so you need to wait a bit to get dl link ;-(

It's already installed and I have downloaded around 200mb of the PATCHES, but I cant just leave the DL over night or something because I get this runtime error all the time...And I dont have a clue how to fix it really. And it works to restart the DL but if it contuines like this it would take me like a week to DL all of it.

I really, really want to play the game but this is just so frustrating...

You will get things done a lot faster if you download the latest installer via the Torrent link and do the patches. Torrent is 100x faster than the patch server. Well, maybe 10x. Also make sure that you have all of the game ports open in your firewall/router.

"Free trial client" is the same as retail, except for the fact it's up-to-date and the boxed game is a couple years old.

...so then it was totally unnecessary to buy the game. Fun. Well it was pretty cheap but anyways...

So I guess I DL the Free Trial through BitTorrent and uninstall the stuff I have installed from teh CD?

Yup. Though if you use your CD code, you yet a month free and possibly a rare Wayfarer title (depending on the CD's region), I believe. Wasn't sure if the title was directly related to the accounts or to the serial.

Or you can sign up for a free trial (which your on I think), and stay on the newbie island with level cap till you decide to upgrade your account which would allow you to go to the mainland. The two methods aren't compatable though. Just fyi.
