Web and Klients access problem.

Post by emptyish »

I cannot access the Ryzom webpage or log on to Klients. Firefox gives me a “timed out” error page (when I can access any other site) and Klients says something about an inability to connect.

Remember when the forums (and the mainsite too I think) were down a few weeks ago? It started about then. (Though is probably not connected to)

I can access the website from my University, and I can still play the game.

I have reformatted my computer (to fix this and a multitude of other problems) and I have reset my router to factory settings (settings I used both the webpage and Klients under at earlier times). Which narrows the problem down to my provider???

This just has all the sign of my IP being blocked… which I don’t really get. (I have a tendency to get all paranoid about these things… what can I say?)

I don’t know if this falls into the problems addressed here… I’d ask in Klients if I could. It’s just that it only happens with Ryzom associated areas (Am I wrongly assuming Klients is directly attached to the web page?).

I hope I explained this clearly. Thanks in any case.

I think they moved the website and klients to a new server/servers.

Everything works fine for me, and seems to be a lot faster

I and a couple of other folks had this happen a couple of weeks ago. No one could see why and it was not Jolt or Ryzom doing it.

You will need to get your IP changed.
An easy thing if you are on DHCP and not so easy if you aren't.
Just run 'ipconfig /release' in a cmd window and then 'ipconfig /renew'
In some cases you may need to power down the modem after the release command.

If you have a fixed IP then you will have to contact your ISP about getting a new IP assigned.
