I find peoples outrage at the games state and its patches and bug fixes a little amusing. Essentially, you play what there is, or you stop playing. You paid for a game, but if you don't like it, then stop paying and move on.

These sob-stories and threats to quit and demands for refunds are just water off a ducks back. They've been plastered over every MMORPG forums since the dawn of the genre. Just exactly what was it that this game was meant to deliver in your expectations that it hasn't delivered? And who cares?

It's a game, if you don't like it, don't play it. Some players like it, and can see the bigger picture and are willing to roll with the teething problems of the game. Who cares that a glut of players will leave when the next big thing in MMORPG's turns up? Not me. The servers will be emptier, the community more consolidated and will be made up of people who actually like playing Ryzom and want to see it develop further. Who cares about guild leaders jumping ship and playing the next release from Blizzard or SOE?

Bottom line, you paid for a box copy of Ryzom, you played a month on it, if you don't like it, stop your subscription and go and look at some EQ2 screenshots. Stop cluttering the community here with your petty complaints.

The game is dynamic, it evolves, features are implemented, some things break, MMORPG's are usually fine tuned throughout their whole lifespan, all this 'were not paying for beta' rubbish just clearly indicates that you don't understand the concept of MMORPG game development and a game as niche as Ryzom is probably not for you anyway.

If you don't like it, vote with your subscription, and move it to some other game. If you do like Ryzom and all it stands for, then bask in its evolution.

But we still want game devs to read this so they can make it without any whine the game will never improove so rather whine than stop playing.

This is a mmorpg. Which means the game is constantly evolving and growing. If u dont like it anymore or think the Dev's don't listen, stop playing.
Always remember that u are unique, just like everyone else ;)

I'm playing MMORPG from beta of ultima onlina and played all major relases out there and ton of others, texts like this make me only close thread after first fey rows, what i wish to see is real bugs you have seen list of bugs and problems that (ruin) your player experience, so developers can work on that.

As far as i have seen they are listening to players and as i have seen patch 1 on test server it will balance a game much better and make it more fun, it aproach in significant mode many things i personaly reported as bugs and ideas probably with many others players too. It will require more polishing for sure but still time to fix errors is very short and game is fun to play and advance for now, i have seen releases where you was unable to play how slow game was becouse of lag or where first month you was able to get 10 days of play overall lol so far this is one of best releases i have seen.

MMORPG games have a vay too long development time and smaler companies have hard life making looooong beta tests without any money back to pay personal working on this, but short signed people like author of this thread wish only "finished" product not even knowing what they wish, ryzom in this moment is one promise to create a original and interesting world to play in.

Game masters and guides are fast to reply on all requests and for now i really rate suport in this game best i have seen, i remember when i was in everquest stuck for 2 days before they get me out or when i lost items never to be refounded and here i got all my requests dealed in fast and profesional manner.

First thing in this kind of game is not to reflect your single game experience and expect same from it, all polished up anf forgoten no this kind of game change and evelve it get balanced fixed, nerfed etc but it give you peace to play solo part, to join massive events with other people, to be part of community or to compare with rest of comuniy, in this games you cannot be all time superman and do all alone, always will be somone who is beter in something but you can find your place and have fun playing your part in this world, making friends and enemies :)

Well, I'm playing this game for 1 year in Beta and run the first german Fansite. But after this time there is nothing in game, that gave me fun or let me tell people to buy the game as i should! Where is the story they promised for so long? Where are real Quests to have a great game expirience? Atm Ryzom is onla a hack'n slay :( I want a story to play! I don't need Mounts within the naxt 2 Patches, i need a Story and Quests!

After so long time i understand trappa!

You think this sort of email does anything for the development of the game? You think if you whinge and whine on a forum that it will make them work harder? Or somehow hold them to a ransom of textual noise, so that they will see more and more of this sort of nonsense UNLESS they fix and develop their game to our expectations?

I don't think so.

What the devs do need are players who are open to the bigger picture, who are willing to help them, who test out their gameplay mechanisms and report back on it, sensibly and objectively, for the good of the game. Not a blinkered opinionated view of a player obsessed with climbing the games mechanisms as efficiently as he can so that he can feel validated in his gaming prowess.

Letters like this are not going to help the devs, nor the community in any way whatsoever. You're best bet, to make a difference, is to vote with your subscriptions money. If you don't like it, or don't want to be a part of it, then go.

Well, the game has only been out for a around a month. The fact that you have become disillusioned with it because you've played it since the first beta, doesn't really have anything to do whether its delivered a good gaming experience or not. If you're bored of it, move on.

Story and Quests, there is a story around the whole concept of the game, and there are quests in game, that pretty much seem to be similar to quests in other games. I think the fact that you've been playing the game so long has heightened your expectations for change. But remember, some people playing the game are still 4 weeks fresh into the whole world. The game delivers a wide variety of sandbox features to explore, apart from just hack n slash fighting. And as far as I can tell, theres been some game story events happening over the continents of Ryzom, that have made quite an impact on the players.

I say lets get some of the basic mechanisms up and running, like vendors and mounts and as the storied events gather pace (and more refined implementation) then lets open up the box of long complex detailed quests with world story attached to it. It's all about priorities, and I think yours as a long term beta player, may differ greatly from the 4 week freshers.

I think the game stands up well as a whole, even with the few problems remaining. It certainly is enjoyable to play and explore the fighting, crafting, harvesting and magical skillsets. There are no shortage of combatants to fight, and to dodge when harvesting, and grouping and large scale combat really is quite well implemented. Tweak the sandbox to make the economy revolve on its own, tidy up the basic gameplay and then we can move on to integrate with the larger storied stuff, and implement larger more detailed epic quests.
