WTB Q250 Supreme LA

Post by daikenr »

I'd like to buy a Q250 Light Armor of supreme quality. I don't have any of the mats but could pay in dapper.

If you are a crafter that can make these, please respond to this post.

Its not a real use to buy a supreme LA, you rather should look for a 2 dodge suit which normally is excellent :) just wanna help ;)

If you manage to get a few mats of the following (mainly sups, can throw a few excs): visc, yelkoo moss, mekoo, shu, moon , some PR skins (can't remember the exact ones, at work at mo) you can get a very good Light armor which is +2 dodge and 24+% of protection factor --I know that you mentioned that you are willing to pay in dappers and have no mats, but being practical/realist this is usually pretty hard, you cannot get most of them with dappers -- If you are lucky, the rubbarn tool may increase the PF a bit (dodge will not reach +3 unfortunately).

In my humble opinion, this is somehow one of the best light armors (other pieces like Kami or Karavan pants are noticeably better tho; but can't be crafted). That said, it can be prohibitive or very expensive / hard to get (e.g. the yelkoo mosses are usually best used in heavy armors). I used to have one which was useful in specific circumstances (e.g. knife championships, where every single HP used to count) but in general I tend to agree with players saying that the difference is not very noticeable with regard to a +2 with a (slightly) lower PF.

In any case, I am not playing a lot currently, but feel free to PM me if you see me online. I can craft you a reasonable (sup) light armor, although unfortunately not the one I mentioned unless you are indeed able to provide the mats.

People seem to think +2 dodge la is the key to everything. What it offers compared to +1 dodge? With whole set you have 3% more chance to dodge. Depending from situation more protection can be even better.

Mialee,

True, +2 dodge isn't. That's why I mentioned the interest of having a +2 dodge/24.x% PF (being 25% the maximum unboosted). I' curious about the 3% figure you mention tho, I'm still unsure where you get that value from. As far as I know, the info on how the chances of success of an action taking into account level delta (target vs player) is not public :? although it can very well match things like crafting :? good point.

In my opinion, the popularity of +2 dodge armors comes from the fact that they are relatively easy to get and given the order of magnitude of the PF and the MaxVS values that span the Light armors, it seems -- at least to me -- a good design to favor dodge, -- true, as long as PF is not extremely low -- which means a bit more chance of no damage at all: a marginal single extra dodge accounts for several hits with marginally decreased taken damage due to extra PF.

E.g. The PF loss while favoring +2 dodge (relatively lower w.r.t. other armor crafted with increased PF), considering ~1000 as at the amounts of damage done by a high level mob or player with 2h weapons, commonplace and taken as a design, may be not as important as an extra dodge, even at 3% since absortions, ranging from 170 to 250 (other than maybe being capped by the MaxVs value) lead to a marginal difference of 80. 1 extra dodge may account for 12 hits.

Just my thoughts tho, that said, I don't have actual data, and this is a bit of a conjecture. I may be wrong. I usually favor +2 dodge aiming at a 18-20% PF and as high Max vs slashing as I can afford. On the other hand, for lower damage ranges (e.g. knives) the PF plays a more important role, explaining the armor I used to use in Samsara's fight tournaments.

Thank you Anissa, these information has already been helpful. I will try to get a hold of you when I get home (at work right now). Maybe we can dicuss this topic in detail then.

Also thanks to everyone else that replied.
