I am a relative newcomer and doing harvest missions on the island. I'm having a heck of a time finding certain resources that I am supposed to harvest. I keep finding all sort of *other* things, of good quality, and harvesting them, but I can't find the two I really need. Is there a "spoiler map" or the like? I presume that it would be off-site.
This is for the Harvester "<something> Silan#1" quest. I've been up around the ruins, both north and south and a little west.
I love prospecting in general, because it's just so much fun to have the resource pop up for you and then to gently pull it from the earth. I suspect that even though I am Matis that I am going to align with Kami.

Yes, I realize that, and when I get to the ML, I understand that I'll not be on quests (in general) and it won't be such a big deal, but I've marked all sorts of neat deposits of this that and the other thing, but I can't find the two specific items I need to finish that quest. I need the experience so that I can buy things like 20 deg. prospecting.

Yay for persistence. Found what I needed without spoilers. Then I got deaded four times while trying another quest.

Persistance is very important in the first weeks on the Main-Land.
Soon you´ll be experienced enough (and I don´t just mean in levels) to not get "deaded". <- nice word *LOL*

No worries. A small bunch of us were taking on the Goo Heads for the first Red Spears mission without any real tactics and getting swarmed. One of us managed to stay alive each time and revived the others (once with the help of a passing stranger). After a bit, we developed primitive tactics and completed the quest.
After I found the deposits I needed, I marked them on my map so that about an hour later, I was able to lead another homin straight to the site. That felt good.
This whole game feels good. (even with 400 msec download delays that mean that some mobs "jump" at you. 
)
I stole the use of the word "Deaded" from The Goon Show. The Famous Bluebottle often became deaded or deaded-ed. I like it better than "killed" because, well, death just isn't final.

Congrats on the Persistance. While from time to time I will look at the maps myself, its been my experince that you never learn that way. (only look at them now for names of the special mobs)

I use the map to the best of my abilties. It is a key and I am all for keys that unlock doors. I love to explore but when I start feeling frustrated I will turn to the map or any site which helps me further my play and enjoyment here
