Magic as a fighter?

Post by marantz »

What I'm not really sure about is what line of magic I should go for as a off fighter. If I'm out soloing and get into a tight spot then I need to have a way out, that being magic, the question is wich spell? Root, sleep or stun? (currently im using fear to pull mobs)

Any suggestions, pros and cons?

ok, forget root sleep and stun. Blind is the answer. Nothing really gets u out of a tight spot except other players, guards or water tho. SO dont get into a fight u cant win.

As Pcheez already said there's no out-of-jail ticket. However, fear enchanted on your weapon can you buy the time to flee sometimes - use the time to get to guards, water or to other players, use the speed-up power. ;)

Ohhh, yes! Mare Sap use, shorter range on spells. Heavy armour isn't for mages, not even for hybrids, check your action penalty (hit p).

When you have equipped something which gives you an action penality (meaning: all medium/heavy armor pieces and all weapons exept mage staffs) you have some pretty red numbers in the info of your spell and some light green numbers in brackets behind them.

The red ones are those you get because of your action penality, the green ones are those you get without any.

Example with my Acid 7 Spell while in Heavy armor and using a 2-hand sword (150 action penality totally):

Sap consumed: 137 (55)
HP consumed: 50 (20)
Range 16 (40) m

Basically, it's original spell costs * ((100 + action penality) : 100 ) and original spell range : ((100 + ...
