I downloaded Ryzom a few weeks ago, and have enjoyed playing on newbie island. Haven't had any particular problem except for the 400ms lag due to the fact that I am in California and the servier is in the UK.
However, ever since I downloaded Ihave been getting crash to bluescreen due to a "bad driver" (sayeth Microsoft on the report form). It's hard to see the error messages on the BSoD, but it appears to be a driver that starts with NV. and it appears to have something to do with the network, not the graphics.
My system reboots and after that I'm OK until the next boot after I play Ryzom.
Does Ryzom install any drivers for the net? Has anyone had a similar problem?
[Windows XP-Home, ASUS motherboard with 1GB memory, AMD processor. Lotsa diskspace.]
System crashes when *not* playing
Re: System crashes when *not* playing
Ryzom does not install any drivers that would cause a BSoD.
Some folks have said that they have had issues with nVidia's network management software (the stuff other than the network driver itself)
Something starting with 'NV' would most likely be the nForce Forceware motherboard or other nVidia chipset drivers.

If Ryzom doesn't load drivers it's probably just a coincidence, then.
