I should be saying Karavan but I suspect for some reason you'd do better with the Kami.

the game has a population problem if your worrying about PvP and has a lot of karavan. Since most of the game is not PvP it really doesn't matter in my eyes, but I dont think either side is "better". Kami are fun and I was gonna go Kami till I found how hard it was to get faction and since my character is naturally alligned with karavan it gets a bonus. I created a second character to follow the Kami route. Anyhow the choice is yours a lot of people go with Karavan characters because their stuff is "cool" apart from that there seems to be no benefit of going one way over the other unless you want to be in the overwhelming majority and win every PvP fight or something..

None is better; each choice has it advantages and disadvantages or feel to it. You will not get more powerfull spells, more powerfull weapons should you opt for one over the other; it's all about affinity with each ideaology.

Read up on the lore, re-read what sparks your interest, get to meet and talk to those that have made their choice, get a feel of the world and what lives amongst the population. Then choose the path that lies you best, and that's always your own.



Slight sidenote: if you had to ask, then it means you're not ready to make such a choice yet.

This is simple: Read the game lore and choose the side you like more. There is also neutrals between kami and karavans.

i'd read up on the lore for the kami/karavan. if you want to go neutral that is a choice too but slightly less in the lore about it. all are a good choice. and it really doesn't matter to begin with so you have time to make up your mind

there is no rush to pick either side, go neutral for a while and see what you think in a few weeks or months, there is no advantage to having a faction at low lvl
