I don't mean to take the measure in players from faction, I meant to take the measure in factions owning x OP-spires (When it comes). If there are 11 Kami OP+Spires and 20 Kara OP+Spires, The kami are the weak side, so the kami newbies take the rewards.varelse wrote:Since every player has 5 character slots, a large alliance could easily make 2 alts join the opposing faction and effectively "balance" the server from the point of view of pure numbers. And that's just the countermeasure that pops into my head in the first 30 seconds of reviewing Mithur's suggestion. Bottom line, it is not an unheard of idea (Ultima Online's faction system works along similar lines) but it's just too easy to step right around it.
BTW, it doesn't make bad the lore. You come to the game, and you don't know the factions, only a little. I need months to understand how every faction is, not only the lore, but the character and feeling. My chose between kara and kami was more aesthetic-based that lore based. And I might have change later. So give incentives for the players who don't have it clear is a good, harmless way, and in the same moveing, you give something to the neutrals and to the Non-PvPrs.
