If so, then you can re-roll on cho anytime and go on to the mainland i believe, i may be wrong since this is my first char, but i think thats how the situation stands now. If your playin a free trial sub, then yes...you'll unfortunatly have to wait until further notice to come to the mainland on either server.
yes I am a paying member and I have a character on both servers (the english ones that is) and forgot to move the one on Cho to the mainland. Anyhow I can't remember if you are stuck there or not regardless of paying subscription or not due to this stoppage of billing etc. I guess next time I login I will go find out hehe

bye

(wont get rid of the character on arispotle I will play both as I'm strange like that hehe)

Everything else 50-70

Personally I think the new start on Cho was superb! An alternate dimension to
Aris, where we can form our own world. Perhaps even a better one? Only time will tell...

i think you're right to try to do what you are doing, but can cho be saved?
The first question is why nevrax did open cho?
As far as I know there where an international server before (the english speaking one, who is result of the merge of the north american one and the european one), and the population of the servers wheren't high enouth.
So for me Cho isn't neded, and as he isn't needed, he won't have the needed population, and this is why you are experiencing difficultes.
Tell me, those of you who use the English server, did there where so many people on the server that another one was needed? I might be wrong, but I don't think so.

But good luck :)

It was called the "Ring effect". It failed. That is why we are at where are now. Ring, the opening of Cho, and the subsequent advert blitz were Nevrax's attempt to bring in more people. The other 2 servers that were planned to open after Cho I can only assume were aborted due to lack of active subs and a score of other reasons. It was pretty much business as usual with Nevrax. Wait till the last second to do something. It doesn't go as well as planned, hope people stay around to keep paying off some of the dept whilst still tossing out 30% completed content and features.

Boy, I'm looking forward to new ownship.
High Officer of The Pyr Militia (Aris)
The least liked guild on Arispotle to date.

Guild Leader of Infinity (Currently Inactive - Aris)

Most feared PvP guild on Arispotle to date.

SoR ~ SWG ~ SRO ~ RFO ~ WoW

Waiting for the SoR devs to make an update since April 2004 (besides Mounts & OP's. Don't even bother mentioning Ring).

The US and English servers were merged due to low population on each one.

I have played Cho and Arispotle, IMO Cho is underpopulated and was released to the detriment of Arispotle, When Cho was opened, you could not get a Plod team in Void (Arispotle) for love or money, because so many people had their alts on Cho.

Consequently I made an alt on Cho as there was noting for me that I wanted to do on Arispotle except dig. Anyway for various reasons I left Cho and returned to Arispotle, to find it repopulated again.

Now you can get a Plod team fairly easily on Arispotle, because alot of people that went to Cho, have returned to Arispotle.

But to be honest I dont ever think there will be a "proper community" on Cho, there are maybe 3 main guilds (haven't been there for a bit tbh, so I'm not sure on that). The two largest of the three dont particularly get on very well, which causes friction and makes the smaller guilds nervous as they are afraid to get involved for fear of antagonising the larger guilds and losing what they have.

At an OP battle, maybe about 20/30 combatants on each side compared to about 100 per side on Arispotle, which IMO are low participation figures for both servers and points to the fact that even if the servers were merged, there would still be a pretty low overall population.

Gratz to Beefy for the initiative he is taking and I hope it works out, but due to the low population and an embargo of new player subs, I cannot really see the Cho population growing.

My suggestion would be that all existing guild leaders sit down and carve up Cho between them (I know it sounds bad and would make Cho go in a direction that some people went there to correct vs Arispotle), there are more than enough OP's there, so that shouldn't be a problem.

They should agree on a spirit of participation and trade with each other and from there, try to build a community.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Beefy and as I dont play on Cho anymore, I feel like an imposter making suggestions to Cho players, but in a long winded way, I was trying to suggest a way for your desire for an active Cho to work :)

Peace and Love and all sorts of Fluffiness :D

Considering how one of those big guilds tends to act this isn't the best topic to bring up as it could too easily derail this thread from what Beefy was hoping for.
