game crash at character creation

new player....every time i try to create my first character, the game crashes....it goes to an error report screen that says something to the effect of the prog tried to read from or write to a virtual address fow which it lacks authorization, i click the debug button, and then i get a runtime error saying it tried to get runtime to shut down in an unexpected way, and the whole game closes out.

Could be video driver issues.
Make sure they are up to date and installed properly.

(Remove drivers via 'add or remove programs', reboot, ignore/cancel 'found hardware' messages and then run video driver installer)
