Hi, all looks like you have a wonderful game going here, that I'm really interested in getting involved with.
Let me start by saying I am a veteran of mmorpg's I started in 1996 with legends of kesmai, and am currently playing WoW...even though I find it hardly to be "wow"ing. (the reply value of WoW severly diminished around the 1 year mark)
My interest is high in this game as it looks very non-linear which I have always really liked since I've played UO. I also like the battle for Outposts? Reminds me of fighting for castles in Lineage.
I have a couple questions before I get myself too involved in the game for any of you that would be kind enough to answer:
1. I work wierd hours (8 straight 10 hour nightshifts, then 6 straight days off) Will I be able to find something to do to progress for the 1 hour I'm able to play on my days on? I'm guessing the 7 hour sessions on my days off won't be a problem?
2. Is soloing about 70-75% of the time going to hinder what I can do in game? Nothing worse than my EQ days constantly having to LFG for hours.
3. Can I experience the full game without being in some super elite guild of people that play 70hours a week? (aka as raiders in WoW) I have a job and a wife.
and last and very sorry for the long windedness
4. Is there a server that has a good bit of people on it from around midnight est to 8am est? Maybe an aussie server? I stay on a night schedule on my days off and when I am able to group I'd hate to still have to be running solo.
Thanks for the read, see ya in game

The one hour sessions can be used for crafting or for grinding materials. (as the 7 hour sessions can be used as well )

You should definately keep your wife and job!
The game doesn't have raids like WoW that forces you to play X hours for X days straight. And its fairly easy to AFK once in a while, when you need. I don't think the general population here suffer from an "elite-complex" that certain other games can have.
And welcome!

Re: My Interest is Definitely Piqued...
A note on /AFK'ing... in most games, if you're grouped with someone who's AFK, you will still get the group rate XP (less than what you'd get solo) and treasure will still split in the usual way. In Ryzom, if I'm grouped with a friend who's AFK and I kill a monster, I get all the loot and the same XP as if I were ungrouped. Basically, you only gain XP if you're actually doing something, and all looting is FFA. If you're not there, you don't partake of the rewards. It's a really good system IMO.
