Virus Alert

I recently downloaded the game, set through the patching process and played for two days and after I got home on the third my antivirus program was saying that this game had a backdoor virus in one of the files. I deleted the game and came back to redownload everything. This time, just after I began to download I received the same warning message. Is it my antivirus or something else?

A bit more info....

The virus detected was W32/Backdoor.UJS and to make matters even better, the ryzom-installer_060928 that began to download when I got the error message gives me an error saying the program can't be deleted because "a program or person" is using it.

The first time I downloaded I used BitTorrent. The second time I began to get it directly from Nevrax.

Were you using NTL netguard antivirus? Funny thing is, my installer recently got detected with the same thing and deleted... but I installed _ages_ back, and had the installer hanging around for torrent uploads, but this only happened recently.

No it was the firewall with Virus/spyware blocker from my ISP. Not the best granted but still a cause for worry.

Maybe you should try another antivirus program and try detecting it again.

We have had hundreds of thousands of downloads of the installer from various locations and have not had any infections reported.

You stated that you had played for 2 days before getting the warning. That indicates to me that you got the infection not through the game but some other method that infected your active applications. Or it was a false detect. Norton has been known to quarantine the interface and keys layout files on occaision claiming they were spyware.
