I am Faeron.

I seek guidance of those older than me, wiser than me and more familiar with this new land than me. I seek training in the skill with the blade, the ways of our ancestors and the wisdom of the Kami. I seek leadership by someone who knows the words of command.

In return I offer my keen eye watching the back of my brothers in arms. I offer my arm to relentlessly slay the enemies of my commander - be they Kitin, goo, Karavan or Matis. I offer nothing less than my complete, unquestioning loyalty to the family as well as my people.

And no, my brother Kendrus isn't going to join along with me. He has... other plans.

My name is Pantufas, I was named after my grandfather, a great ranger of the woods, caretaker of the natural world, that did is best to take to himself the responsibility of balance life and dead on this wonderful sacred grove of ours, Atys. I have never met him, the only things I know about him is what my father tells me. In his words my grandfather was not a follower of the Kami in spite of the mutual hatred they shared for the goo. He had his reasons, but those reasons were also his secrets, lost with him in the great swarming.

He was one of the brave defenders of our civilization that perished in the invasion, but my parents along with me, too young to remember, escaped to the prime roots in order to survive.

There I grew and learned about Atys only by books and storytellers. My father was a warrior, just like my grandfather, and told me uncountable stories of adventures he and his dad had in the desert when he himself was a young boy. It was due to my ancestors, due to the blood I have in my veins, that I also aspired to become a great hunter.

Some would describe my father has a cynical man, but he would just reply to those people that in fact he was pragmatic. Untrusting of the Kami and the Karavan, he preferred to find the truth by himself, to learn as much as he could and make his own decisions. In the past many events led him to re-think the true Kami intentions and the Karavan, even supporting slavery, did everything they could to protect us in the swarming (or at least seemed like, loosing many soldiers trying to fence of the Kitins).

“Who knows if the secrets they deny to share with us are not for our own protection, why do the Kami protect some areas of the world but others leave them to rot and decay?”. Words like these I listened all my life, besides no homin truly knows where we come from and why we are here. No homin knows the truth intentions, knows what lies beneath, so how can we make the decision to favour one faction to another?

Today both possess the same power, which makes their power struggle to be at a stand, not allowing a faction claim victory over the other. But we are the grain of sand that can bend those forces one way or another, we can give supremacy to a faction. But what if we give it to the wrong one?

Every reason so far to ally with one faction or the other has been based on faith, “but faith is a poor tool, if you go into the desert unprepared, having only faith you will find an oasis, it is certain a gingo will have a nice meal“, quoting my father. So I can say his cynicism taught me to be a reason man, having as ally the search for the truth and my faithful gun.

“Don´t move your head to adjust your aim, you must move your rifle or you will always hit the same” was my first lesson when my dad crafted my first gun. That day was a happy one, one of the few one could hope to have in the roots, since the small area only presented us with the same quotidian and mechanical tasks. I think that what killed my father was his inability to see he desert once again, to feel the sand in his feet and the sun in his forehead…

“In the desert a scent can be felt miles away, it is more important you learn to move against the wind than to move silently”, my second lesson, then I had a third, a forth and so on, he did everything he could to teach me how to survive and master the sands, but in truth it was a poor effort, since I only studied what would be like to live in the desert, but never put my feet on it actually. Never the less, I will take his lessons to my grave, knowing they one day will help me in my quest.

My mother was a great woman, she loved my father and my father loved her in return. My mother gave me all the love she could, and taught me to be happy and never give up even in the worst situations. She was always ready to help another homin, in the belief of a greater good. “If we all work together we can accomplish even the impossible”, but after my father died her lost all ground, and even that lovely woman, always so full of joy even in the harder times, became just an empty shell. She died shortly after it, but before she taught me the fine art of crafting, to turn ordinary items into powerful allies.

Being alone in the roots I found myself without a purpose, so it was then I decided it was time to stop being a refugee, it was time to go into the surface and reconquer the planet. Many were already up, fighting against our enemies or to make a name for themselves, why would I be cowered underground then? I spoke to the Kami representative of our camp, and soon found myself in Pyr, home city of all Fyros.

It was then that I saw it, stretching to the horizon, endless sand and dunes, inviting me, asking to put to test everything I have learned. I faced it, and with all my strengths I took the first step, the first step into the desert, into the world, into my life…

I am Samil, borne of Remnants of a clan lost to The Swarming.

The Wandering taught lessons, and taught them harshly.
We learned that Equality is the legacy, and kinship of all Homin
We learned that Freedom is the sap of Homin spirit..
We learned that Brotherhood is the sword and shield of all Homin.

These lessons have brought me through the path to the new lands, to join the races, and find a new home.

I am Samil, come before you to ask a place amoung the Samsara.

* * * *
Let Jena Remember...
Let Jena remember the story, the story of a people.
Let Jena remember The Swarming, the rivers of Homin blood.
Let Jena remember The Flight, families mad run to bridges of light, of hope.
Let Jena remember those who reached safety...
And let Jena remember the Remnant who were left behind.
Let Jena remember their Wandering.

Greetings, I am Zyquo.

The story of my arrival here is a long one, and I wish not to bore you to death with my telling. So, I will tell you of me. Of who I am, not what I have done.

I am one born of illegitimate birth, in a land where such would not be allowed to exist. I come from a land far to the east, where the ever-present life-giver hangs low in the western sky.

My travel here was long, and to be accepted as one called “Matis” took even longer. But, through my time on Silan, I learned the ways of the peoples in these lands.

In these lands, I am a fighter first. I have learned the ways of the blade nearly to mastery. I am a guardian and protector, seeking to keep those around me safe from harm. I have learned many other abilities here, and am willing to aid any, however they may need me to.

What I have done since my time here is no secret, and I will be willing to share with any who may ask. However, I do not believe such a public display is appropriate. If you wish to know more, you need only ask.

Thank you for allowing me to join you. I hope I can serve you well.
