New player. Need help with bugged quest

Greetings
I am trying to do the newb area quests and can not progress the Ranger's Quest past the first part. It says to listen to what he has to say about the inhabitants and surroundings but don't get a dialog or selection bubble from him..just the mission menu. Am i bugged or am i missing a step to complete this part.

hmm sometimes it sounds like there is going to be another step in the quest but it actually is telling you to move onto the next quest. Check the current one of the ranger quests and see if it says "finished" and see if you can take the next step out of his missions menu.

Note that at 2 points in Chiang's series, you must meet minimum requirements (first 25 fight or magic, later 30) but at both of those points he says practice if you don't meet those, and then he has a dialogue option "I'm strong enough now" or something like that.

Those missions all kinda flow together, be sure you haven't completed a step and are ready to take the next one.
