If anything, our lands seem more abundant and easier to harvest than some years ago. The lakeland and forest continents tended by the Karavan and their followers have very healthy lands covered in rich vegetation. In contrast, the desert lands have been blasted and are still burning in areas because of the damage caused by some of its foolish Kamist inhabitants. The jungles are far worse! The very center of Ma-duk's cult is dissolving and festering in poisonous Goo -- which is found no where else. I pray that someday you will see through the lies and tricks of Ma-duk and the Kamis before it is too late. Ma-duk is not saving Atys but rather destroying it.
You are wrong! The Karavan are at fault for the goo spreading! They are the ones who have upset the balance and distracted those who are supposed to tend to the goo!

Yes, that is a plug to my scenario The Kitin Secret. If you haven't played it yet, shame on you!

[OOC]Awww. I would like to play it but I've never seen it on when I check the Ring Terminals. I usually check when I log on, so maybe that is too early? [OOC]

after spotting a group of heratics killing the peaceful waterbreaks I have taken it upon myself to arm them to protect themselves from further attack. Let this be taken as the law of the apostles, anyone caught attacking the waterbreaker tribe will brought to justice.
Skade enters the tavern in the capitol city of the Matis and removes the furs wrapping his body and sets them aside, the last of the season's first brutal hailstorm melting on the soft fur. He glances around at the large crowd and settles on a place in the corner to watch and listen. The firelight flickers off his dark heavy armor and as he sets his helm down on the table he begins to warm.
It has been a long week's journey, this last week of Autumn. He has found solid footing in the Ruins of Silan and stepped forward to the densely populated capitol city to begin to learn and find his way on this vast living world. He traveled far to the fields where vast rattling plants were witness to herds of thundering bodoc and the soft howling of hungry gingo. In the distance the familiar thud of kipee against the earth made him tighten the grip on his two-handed sword. It was very worrisome, these creatures so very close to his new home, was no one bothered by this?
Sipping at his firewine, he recalled the long walk south toward some of the other outlying villages, Natae, Davae, and Avalae, further south to Charmer's Way to a vale where the the telltale clouds began to darken the sky with the coming of winter. As flakes hit the ground he watched packs of hungry gingo and ragus emerge from their dens, hungry and intent on seeking sustenance which would be harder to come by with the fierce storms that would sweep across the lands.
Skade turned for home, claw marks on his armor from his battle with one of the strong ragus, certain that one at least would make it through the cold season. Winter has always been a time for reflection, when the storm winds would howl outside, blisteringly cold through the cracks in the small refugee hut, he and his family would settle close around the meager fire and tell tales. It has always been a time for him to reflect and look inward. To seek knowledge. It is perhaps fortuitous, he thinks, that in this season he as come to understand the vast stores of knowledge lost to the veils of time and what lies ahead...
He listens to the snippets of conversation around him, some things that strike his interest, he does not know their names...
... As the Kami are the true protectors of Atys, they know what can be used and what can not be used. When the Kami ask for resources they do so with full knowledge of how it affects Atys. The Karavan do not have that power. They only seek to take from Atys without and concern or knowledge to it's adverse effects ...
... If your group takes so much of the resources of Atys, they will stop you. As they have the ability to know the instant a homin takes too much, they must be tied to Atys. There simply is no other explaination. Therefore I believe them when they say who they are and why they are here. I also believe Atys must be protected at all costs. As the Kami know more of the planet I trust in their guidance led by the great Ma-Duk ...
... The clearest way for Atys to be protected is by us homins rebuilding our civlizations and being prepared. To do this we must use the resources available to improve ourselves and our cities. Who knows when the next Fyros or ranger expedition will put our very existence into jeopardy again ? Sure the Karavan and Kami not long ago asked us to erect temples in their honor, but the materials needed for this did not require the materials we have needed to survive ...
So many conflicting tones and voices, filled with anger and hatred and he smiles a uniquely Matis smile of pride and vanity. He is aware of how little he understands but perhaps in that there will be some tiny measure of wisdom... He thinks on the small pieces of things he has been allowed to see by the Sage. The Mara Fragments stated that: The Kamis are the living incarnation of Ma-Duk, the Great Creator of Atys. It is a bodiless entity of pure energy that presides over a kind of nirvana. The Kamis have been placed on Atys to watch over the planet and defend it against anyone who might threaten to break its natural balance. He wonders at how it can be said that they are born of this land, that they have full knowledge of what they do and what resources may be taken. It is true they seem to be the guardians of this world, but they are also agents of one of its Creators.
His brow furrows because this seems in direct contradiction to one of the other pieces of fragile knowledge, the Flanagan Files, and he remembers its history well... The homins lived on an impoverished world until the Great Dragon, the prince of darkness, came and seduced them with the visions of crystal waters and a land of plenty. After leading them to Atys, the Dragon endeavored to extinguish the sunlight there and in the cold and dark reduced the homins to slavery. But Jena, Goddess of the Sun, creator of Atys, filled his body with eternal fire and conjured a new light so that world might thrive. Jena sent her disciples, the Karavan Guardians, to establish the homins in different parts of the planet so that each race would have a role in its conservation.
Are not the Karavan then, also the agents of one of the Creators? Perhaps as is often the case with these things that it is Ma-Duk who created Atys from the star stuff of the universe. What was it then that made him turn a blind eye when the Great Dragon came to inflict such pain upon it? Where was he then? Maybe it was this suffering that Jena could not allow to continue any longer that she took a stand and helped the world to be re-born by giving the blessing of light and eternal fire and damnation to the Dragon that surely still seeks to re-awaken.
Another piece of conversation attracts his interest as he sips at the third cup of firewine, pleased by its warmth and flavor, a fine vintage, he decides he will learn more of these finer things once his people have reclaimed their place. There will be a time for decadence and aestheticism but now is the time for action, to pursue the knowledge of the ancients that has been lost. What was it he overheard? That there were observations that the vines over the surface are growing thicker with each passing season? Could it be the Great Dragon has already awakened from its slumber? That even the eternal fire of Jena could not for long hold off its inexorable darkness?
He rises, much on his mind, and turns to leave the tavern and steps out into a clear brutally cold night. He takes a deep breath and lets his lungs fill with the prickly cold, a fine compliment to the heat of the wine. He laughs quietly as he walks among the lit paths toward his small hovel home to prepare for his next days journeys. Who is he to wonder about the will of the Gods? What he does know is that more knowledge must be sought out. This is what he learned in the Ruins of Silan. The Kami believed that this spread of Goo must be stopped at all costs, their desire for preservation overtaking any other needs or desires. The Karavan believe that they must first learn of what the Goo is before they can take action. Does this not make sense? To first learn whether or not it is even the threat it seems to be? Is there not some purpose behind its appearance? It is irrational to him to take action without knowing. He laughs at that as well, his sword arm has grown strong and his harvesting and crafting tools lie collecting motes of dust for a time, he is a man of action. Still it is his preference to temper with wisdom as he may from time to time and in this, what seems to be something that may finally decide the future of all homins, great care must be taken, knowledge must be acquired.
Finally as he drifts off to sleep, he knows one thing for certain: If the homins are all pawns as the small pieces of their history seem to be, taken from their true home to be used as slaves by this Great Dragon, to be coerced by the agents of Ma-Duk and the agents of Jena, then this in-fighting may spell doom for them all if they do not work to re-build their civilizations and strength above all else. For this reason, he knows as dreams claim him, that he will always side with the Karavan, blind rash action is most often a fatal mistake.
ORP (outa RP):
Very Sad I am and you guys will never change: for once we could have had a pure RP thread, you always end up trying to pull the blanket to yourself...
We all know each other "politicals", "fanaticals" arguments, we heard then 1000's of time, what we really need now is a bit of immersion, context
Raynes started this fully RP and you guys go again down the argumentation road (some didn't even had politeness to mention RP or Outa RP)..
raynes wrote:Think of it this way. The Kami are like a bartender. They have knowledge of the drink available.
He might have stayed too long in the Kami bar but at least he believes what he says, though we could think he turn Kara for what he seems to have consummed there
ORP again:
I think it was a good effort and one should not judge motivation, only dedication
potential RP: Would I be a Kami:
Good work raynes, those Kara only have what they deserved, call next time would you need help... Would I be a Kara:
*Runs into his apartment, takes a paper and pens and make posters: now is time to appeal to Kara people to stop the Kamis, reward of 20K for Raynes head: run back and forward in Yrk and other kara town and stick s the poster to every Apartments and GH doors... Would I have ability to be Taged as neutral
Hmmm, now might be the time: all those zealot and there destroying of Atys childrens must die.. *Think about organizing a ganking on Kara-Kami zealot during their next encounter* as a neutral whith no choice of participating (thanks Nevrax )
*Watch, sit, learn and go digging*...
Endless possibilities....
And lastly a reminder: enough space on general for same old debats, keep Saga for RP only
You guys should learn French, lot of things to learn there about RP and ORP and the respect of the RP and ORP threads.... (even tho they also jump constantly at each other throats, they try to keep it RP lol)
Edit: I initially stopped on page 5 due to seeing always same discussion, sorry for ppl who tried to put it back on Rp tracks after....
