The game crashes after a few minutes. By that I mean an error message appears and after I deal with the error message I am returned to my desktop.
Specs: ASUS A8N-E, AMD 3700+, 2GB RAM, 7900GS, onboard sound.
This is a fresh Windows XP Pro installation. It was installed a few hours ago with the latest drivers for all devices.
The CPU seems to be 100% fine - it benches well and completes stress-tests without problems. Has an Arctic Cooling 64 Freezer Pro attached. Never seen it get above 54 degrees C.
The video card is 6 weeks old and has a Zalman VF900-cu on it and in any game never exceeds 56 degrees C.
The RAM is TeamXtreem Cronus from memory (PC3200 2-3-2-5). It passed 6 hours of Memtest without error only last week.
The motherboard is 8 days old. My PSU is an Antec NeoHE 550W and is about8 weeks old.
I am running the game in direct3d mode as described in a stickied thread in this forum.
I am satisfied my system is staying cool. All heatsinks, fans, case fans are new and I am monitoring temps.
I've tried dropping my firewall, anti-virus and anti-trojan software but to no avail.
I've tried running the game with sound disabled but no joy.
I've tried "check data" from the login screen and no problems were reported.
Any help would be like a gift from god. My longest time in-game is 13 minutes.
Below are 2 error messages. The first is the error message I received just now after re-installing Windows. The 2nd error message I received last night before re-installing windows and the sound was turned off when I received that particular error message.
After sending the error message for debug purposes to the Ryzom devs, and immediately before I am returned to desktop, I receive the following message:

You might try this:
Set your sound to use the softwarebuffer (a checkbox InGame or add/change the following line in the client.cfg "SoundForceSoftwareBuffer = 1;") and
reclock your RAM to use higher (=slower) timings and try again.
Ryzom is heavy duty on all hardware components indeed, having overclocked anything might lead to random crashes as well. (FastWrites and SBA on AGP are disabled?)

Have you tried lowering the gfx settings to LOW to see what happens? And is your PSU really up to snuff? It may be marginal and the extra drain of Ryzom could be pushing it over the edge. Same goes for the 7900 - I have heard more than a few folks complain about the lack of stability for that model.
If you have 2 GB of RAM then make sure your paging file is 1 GB max as 32 bit Windows OSes use the 3-4GB memory space for system purposes. Plus you will never need to use the paging file anyway.
Delete the .string_cache files out of the DATA folder and rename the SAVE folder. They are probably corrupt by now anyway.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Okay I lowered the settings to the lowest possible with no sound and the game crashed immediately upon loading.
Then I realised I'd overlooked something: I'd always run the game in windowed mode. So I ran the game with sound on and MAX graphics settings in full-screen mode and 15 minutes later I haven't crashed. I've been ALT+TABBING in and out and mashing the keyboard trying to cause problems but there are no problems.
So it looks okay at the moment, I'll update the thread in a few days after some entended game-play.

I have a slightly older system as you have but with the same sort of components. I run in opengl with maxed settings and never had a problem. Did you have this problem in opengl as well ?
Edit: just checked I have the same nvidea driver version as you. the sticky is not about the nvidea driver you currently use.
