This game sucks

It's not about leaving the thread open or closed. It'a about people here breaking forum rules. I don't like to reminder forum admins or people here that it's not my job to report when forum rules are broken. I just notice that there is forum rules broken and admins haven't done anyting about it.

If You don't know what was the rule, here is copy of it:

If forum admins doesn't request rules to be followed by forum users, then there is not point to have rules. What they should have done is to edit the post, so that there is no rule breaking and warn the forum users that he/she have broken the rules.

I was not debating the fact that a rule was broken.. I was merely pointing out the necessity to do so after the thread's death. Doesn't this in the end, make it a bigger issue than it should?

As for the forum rule, if you want to go that road, then you should simply look at the OP and the thread title he used: wouldn't you call this an insult to the whole community: If someone told you that your belief in forum regulation sucked.. how would you react? True, there is a path that should not be taken, but first those who replied harshly, did not started the insult and second ,their faults - if faults there is - were far more gentle than in many other places.

I actually couldn't believe that most replied to the OP in a reasonable way.. I personally refrain from answering to threas using such crappy titles and prefer to let them die... but I guess that's also why this community is appreciated by most of the ppl.

Of cause it does make the issue bigger than it is, that's the hole point. Put the bad apple into table and show it.

I could just quietly report it, but then some people in this community would not learn anything at all. I don't understand why forum admins doesn't do anything when this kind of situations happen, because that's why they are here. They job is keep the talking in subjects and polite. Thats why we have forum rules.

The real problem behind this is that some people have attitude that it's okey to insult other people when they don't like others opinions.

I also did read the original poster opinion about this game. It was his personal opinion and too bad he doesn't like the game. If some of this forums community can't handle negative feedback without insulting players, too bad. I can understand someone getting angry about something. Problem is still that forum admins should have done something and they still should do something.

Why to keep this thread alive?

Mostly because this thread shows the problem well. Most people wanna this thread to be forgotten, but it's not gonna happen until forum admins does take actions. Sometimes only way to get people to do what they have to do, is force them to do so.

So in the end you too are breaking the rule purposely, being off-topic (does the game suck or not) and to top it off, you aren't doing anything different than reporting... well the only difference is that you are publicly trying to make the thread locked. As for its educational purpose, do you really think the forum readers wouldn't understand the reasons behind a "silent lock"?

Once again, it all ends up with this question: what level of freedom of expression should you give to a forum community. I really do think that a community has several tools to moderate itself, you apparently disagree and think an heavy enforcement should always occur. Which one of the 2 is the best, i dunno..

I do know 2 things on the other hand:
1- The thread was long dead until you and you alone, decided to revive it several days after.
=> The community, by refraining posting more, fully managed to self-moderate this issue at that time.. For example, I was close to post an angry answer and simply stopped for this reason alone.

2- You are now the direct cause of a necessary moderation move.
By clearly mentioning that you will bump this thread over and over, you are actively reporting it.. but instead of keeping it a private issue between you and what you think Nevrax should do.. you are forcing us to pick a side: your trolling or the professional moderation.

Nice job... I will however stop posting on this thread because you are forcing me to break the rule: I too am off-topic because of your actions.. paradoxal situation for someone so eager to enforce them, don't you think?

I'm not trying to restrict peoples freedom to express them self. So, it's a choise for this forums admins. Change the forum rules or start doing the job what rules says.

Yes, they should also enforce me by been off topic. Problem is that forum admins should have taken care of this situation long time ago. It's not about enforce freedom of speech, but enforce forum rules. Correct action now would be edit the insults off the thread, then close it as been off topic, or easyer, just delete it.


I only hope that people did learn something from this.
