The FAQ semi-helpfully lists the ports outgoing (which from all I can see is from your network to the Internet).
For my setup this is not a problem, the entire LAN on my side is completely secure, so I do not limit outgoing sessions. However, incoming have to pass through NAT. Which specific ports have to be allowed and port forwarded on *incoming* (from the Internet into my network)?
Right now I have based it on the outgoing list, but that's not quite necessarily the same port on return.
Question with regard to firewall settings
Re: Question with regard to firewall settings
router takes care of that. all traffic between your pc and ryzom server is started from your side, so router knows which traffic to pass back in.uruloki wrote:For my setup this is not a problem, the entire LAN on my side is completely secure, so I do not limit outgoing sessions. IF, you having disconnects, then read the LinkSys faq to get some ideas for port forwarding. if there is no problem, then there is no need for port forwarding.
Re: Question with regard to firewall settings
Ahh, perfect, couldn't find anything that all traffic is initiated from the client only. So I can just rip all my forward ranges and forwards out again. Good to know, this will be better for the entire setup.blaah wrote:router takes care of that. all traffic between your pc and ryzom server is started from your side, so router knows which traffic to pass back in.
Thanks.
