What a great community!

Post by panteera »

I am a very shy and quiet person. Therefore, I don't get along well with Ventrillo screaming "more dots" WOW types. I hate being called a N00b when I ask a question, even when I am one.

With that in mind, I think I have finally found my online niche in this game. People are just lovely here! What a great community you have. I've been reading general chat for a week now and it is civil, helpful, and friendly. I hope you realize how special this is. I've tried a lot of MMOs looking for one like this.

Now, the purpose of this post is Kudos to all of you and to introduce myself a little. However, I need to mention something. When I signed up I accidentally paid for an old account (a trial last July that I never played) instead of the trial I was currently playing. Argh! So, I decided to shell out the bucks and pay for the other account and cancel the first; it was a $15 mistake on my part. I kind of explained on the form to cancel but didn't put a ticket in because I figured it was my own bad.

Today, I get an email that my money is being refunded from the account I mistakenly enabled! I don't know how many MMOs you guys have played, but this is highly unusual and VERY refreshing! So, Kudos to the players, the devs and the customer service team. It looks like I've found my online home.

Welcome to Ryzom, Panteera! And a nice first post for sure!

I think a lot of players are aware of the great community, which is why we keep coming back (at least I do ;) ). Every time I think the grass is greener somewhere else, I find we have the greenest grass.

Have fun Panteera!

The two things that even Ryzom's most angry detractors usually find themselves (grudgingly) admitting is that whatever other flaws the game may have, the community and customer service are second to none. Your experiences are typical, and it's why so many who try Ryzom end up staying.

Nevrax actually sends an e-mail out 3 days before your subscription is about to auto-renew, to warn you that your card is about to be charged. I've played a bunch of other MMOs and have never been warned by them... they always just charge you and leave remembering when your account will auto-renew up to you.

All in all, you are right, it is very refreshing, and one of the reasons why I keep subscribing (besides just liking the game in general).

This is one of the main reasons I'm going to pay to play when I get back from vacation...the community is awesome :) I've made a few friends already just in the couple days I've played! :)

(( The game hooked my husband and I the day we logged in and reeled us in after we got our first "You cannot exceed this level in the trial".

We talked about it...more indepth than we wanted to talk about it - pros and cons, just to make sure and feel out that the other was having AS much fun and wanted to leave <insert dirty, three-lettered game-acronymn here>.

I have not regretted the decision.

Ryzom's community (OUR community! <dances>) is so wonderful and so kind that the rude people just can't manage to take root...or if they do, they learn that it is less pleasant to be rude than it is to just bite the bullet and be polite!

At any rate, Welcome! ))

Wow! That makes a nice change from the recent spate of "this game is teh suck" threads we've had from ex-"otherMMO" players recently. Thanks Panteera, and welcome to Atys from myself and on behalf of The Riders. Enjoy the ride!
